i don't know if louie's a starter. he's got the velocity--but he has to have better control of the strike zone and i don't know if he can do that. walks and high pitch counts lead to short outings. giving up the HRs is another concern.

that julien HR is why i don't have a big problem with his approach at the plate. i'd like to see him be a little less choosy on the pitches he swings at--but i wouldn't tell him to change what he's doing. that might screw him up too much. i'll live with the strikeouts--but he's also going to get a lot of walks. the pitchers have been hitting a lot of corners so far for strike three. they can't continue to be so good all year long, can they?

in the meantime, paddack strikes out the side in the second.
