***Official Twins 2024 W/L Predictions Thread***

Post by Tommy_Hawk »

Winter is behind us, like a silent fart whisping away into the wind. It's time for the welcome audible sound of the crack-of-the-bats and glorious spectacle of a well-timed web gem. The familiar warm embrace of Spring is also nice too.

What say you, Froobs? Will you trust your head (no, knot that one) or your heart this year when predicting how well our team will do this season. Sure the front office publicly celebrated payroll cuts despite postseason "success" the season prior. That doesn't mean the national pundits and baseball-heads haven't ranked the Twins' lineup in teh Top-10 heading into Opening Day. Will the fortified Bullpen add more wins to last season's total, or will the depleted rotation leave more to be desired bi season's end?

Come one, come all! Mark your predictions in stone so we shall roast your rubedom in October. Or will you be celebrated like the grate baseball mind you believe you are? Only time, (and Spread-sheet Rocco) will tell.

Play Ball!

I'm going 84-78

Twins feast on a weak division, but their rotation makes them an easy target in the playoffs for the real contenders.

Buxton is motivated this year.
Royce is a year older with more experience.
Lots of younger guys on the team that have something to prove/overcome injuries

The starting staff concerns me, but I think the bullpen is going to be better than last year (which is remarkable considering the year they had in 2023).

Prediction: 90-72 (Division winners)

They'll hit fine, but the rotation is iffy, at best, the bullpen is already beat up and there's no Ryan, Ober or even Varland-level guys in the minors ready to step up.

88-74.
Counting on a reasonably healthy lineup, and a rotation that can hold its own. They will need to get a starter at the deadline.

I'll say 91-71. Easily winning a bad division.
