***Official Warriors @ Timberwolves GDT 24 Mar Official***
The Golden State Warriors (36-33) travel to Target Center today to take on the Timberwolves (48-22). Tip off is an early 6 PM.
This is a big game for the Warriors, who sit in 10th place in the West - just 1.5 games ahead of the steamrolling Rockets, who have now won 9 of their last ten games. Golden State is 4-6 in that span - Minnesota remains in third place - and are 6-4 in the last ten. One Warrior who seems to have found his game again recently - and who should be accounted for today - is Klay Thompson. He's been moved to the bench and has responded well - averaging 20.1 ppg over those 13 games - nearly 3 points higher than his average as a starter. His replacement - rookie Brandin Podziemski - hasn't fared as well, seeing his scoring average dip by 2 points in his time as a starter. He may be hitting a rookie wall - or perhaps just has had fewer opportunities working with the starters.
The Timberwolves are favored by 4.5 points.
Injury Report:
Golden State - Nothing submitted yet to the league, but in their game Friday night against the Pacers, the Warriors were fully loaded.
Minnesota - Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaylen Clark are Out. Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards are Questionable. Naz Reid seems to be fine.
Cheers Froobs and Go Timberwolves!

i wonder how many times the wolves have been favored against GS in the last 10 or so years? i can't remember if they were earlier this year--but i kind of doubt it.

Wolves need to do their part in helping the Rockets get that last play-in spot. Fuck the Warriors. I’ve grown tired of that fucking team and their coach.

I just hope Rudy doesnt do something stupid and obvious in the first few minutes and gets kicked out. Plus he's still nursing his ribs - watch to see if Draymond hits him there. It'd be like that miserable fucker to do that.

Kinda wish the Wolves had an enforcer type. Someone who could send a physical message when necessary and whose presence wouldn’t be missed much on the court in a basketball sense if sending that message cost him a game or two.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 12:28 pm I just hope Rudy doesnt do something stupid and obvious in the first few minutes and gets kicked out. I was watching the NC St-Oakland game last night and saw DJ Burns for the first time. I’ve got nothing to say about him as a basketball player, but all I could think about was how fun it’d be to watch Zion try powering through someone so…colossal.Beef Supreme wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 12:58 pmKinda wish the Wolves had an enforcer type. How do you hoops guys think Zach Edey's game will translate to the NBA?

Re: ***Official Warriors @ Timberwolves GDT 24 Mar Official***
well, I posted something about this some other place. maybe i haven't seen enough vid to understand why UConn's Donovan Clingan (7-2 280) is rated as a late lottery pick - while Purdue's Zach Edey (7-4 285) is an early second rounder. Edey has double the stats and credits to his name. Maybe Clingan truly is really much more mobile than Edey, idk - that would of course make a difference in the pro game. i think your answer might partly be found here. Will Edey be an okay pro? A lot of folks sure are expecting Clingan to be more than that.
it would be nice if they matched up in the tourney - battle of the giants.

There have been many great collegians that weren’t very good pros. I don’t know if Edey has enough quickness to be anymore than a rotational player, but who knows maybe the good parts of his game can overcome his flaws. And will he work Naz-hard to improve his game?
