RTSports: Cousins closing in on deal to stay with Vikings

Post by RubeTube »

I’m putting my reputation on the line here, boys. This is what you crave.

I became a big shot sports personality in the summer of 15, how could I ever forget. It was Adrian Peterson and if he was going or staying and Ben “Big Dawg” Dogra that launched me into the sport’s stratosphere when I got word before anyone else about APs new deal.

I’m putting it ALL ON THE LINE for you, the little people, one more time.

I’m told Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are VERY close on keeping the 4 time pro bowler in Minnesota.

Here are a few details….

-Kirk has explained to Julie that it’s not that the Vikings don’t appreciate him but the fact they are trying to build a winner here.

-Had no desire to go to a new system and has a big admiration for Head Coach Kevin O’Connell and the Vikings organization.

-Believes there is unfinished business here.

-Conversations between him and Julie about how grateful they are on the money made and this decision was not about that.

-There will be MASSIVE provisions in the contract for playoffs, SB appearance etc. Once again, Cousins betting on himself.

-A lot of talk about this being the path that God has chosen for him etc.

Now, I will tell you that the two sides are still negotiating and are not there yet but it isn’t as big as some might think.

I’ll try to keep you updated this evening but it’s sounding like Cousins will remain a Viking. I also expect if this is going to happen, it will be announced tonight or before FA launches tomorrow at 11am CT.

As always….. Stay Tuned.

I’m probably heading to the grocery store or Taco Bell, haven’t decided.

I’ll bring my phone with me.

Edit: Whoops this was supposed to go to my source. Thought I was texting.

I better watch out what I’m doing.

RtSports,

Are you sure about this? I mean you told us he won't be back for G1 from his "blown out knee" - are you sure they still will sign him?

Sincerely,

I’m hearing the same thing - my channel 4 wcco source I’ve had for years confirms Tubes news. Look for Kirk to be back in Minnesota.

Just to clarify, I didn’t break the news before Rube tube did after I saw this thread, I texted my Source and he confirmed.

Da Tube broke this news first

Just in from my channel 4 Source

The Minnesota Vikings will match any offer put out there by any other teams. Look for rumors he’s signing with Atlanta possibly Denver but he’s coming back to Minnesota.

That doesn’t mean he can’t come back to Minnesota. It’s how the game is played.

It’s pretty clear cousins agent is trying to drive it up now the broncos are intrested florio says the vikes should cave or have a plan b I would say he signs here but at this point I’m fine with him leaving the nfl acting like a 35 you old qb who is 1 and 4 in the playoffs is so over the top

If he is hitting the market then there is no deal close! I hope we don't bend for him and get someone cheaper while drafting our franchise qb

I’m hearing Vikings are offering 2 years at 70-75 million. Incentives built in. 50 guaranteed.

Falcons I’ve heard is around 3 years 130. First two guaranteed.

Rumors that Blank will go off this number and exceed if need be.

What I’m hearing from my channel 4 source is the only quarterback they are enamored with is Caleb Williams. They view him as a possible Patrick Mahomes, but no one else is considered a long-term franchise quarterback in their eyes.

I guess they want to sign Cousin and keep Mullen and stay mediocre because they never attempted to sign a decent 2nd string qb for years. This organization is not real in being competitive.

I think Mullens is decent backup. He is way better than mannion. Who is better than mullens? Dalton, brissett, flacco, heini cke, and minshew are ones I think are better. Most backups suck.
