LIke Steele Chambers, Ulofoshio is a draft on potential and in Ede specific case going to the level his pure athleticism can take him. He ran a 4.56 at the combine with a 39.5 vertical (best in LB class). HE can make plays, especially in the passing game but too often he gets blocked up and taken out of the action. Another guy with the physical ability to stand out and contribute on special teams.

Big, tall, fast. Harbaugh’s rush-heavy attack didn’t utilize him much so his modest production hurts him here. Eagles have a top-heavy WR group and Johnson might help provide some depth. He’s not a great route-runner and is kind of a straight line guy, but he’s explosive and can get downfield. With Philly’s offense, it’s going to be tough to keep a safety over the top and he’ll get 1v1s down the field. At 6-3 with 4.4 speed and a 38” vertical, he’ll make some plays.

Hampton has put some decent work on tape - but has the measureables that beg for pro coaching. He's big (6-2 215), long (6-7 WS coupled with a 39" vertical jump) and fast (4.51 forty). Ranked 2nd among Safeties in the Athleticism Score at the Combine. He also has the willingness and ability to deliver memorably ferocious hits on receivers. Started all 15 games for the Huskies last season, was their leading tackler (109), and finished off the year by having the most tackles on either team in their CFP National Championship loss to Michigan. There is immediate special teams value here as well.

With their 4th selection in the 6th round, 217th overall the L.A. Rams select

Eric Watts Edge University of Connecticut 6-6 274

Watts has good length and athletic ability. A 4.68 40 and 36.5 vertical at his length and mass are solid measurables that indicate a player that can at least be a rotational piece in the NFL. He had a solid "junior" (I put this in quotes because with the covid thing what is their actual year) with 7 sacks and 10 TFL, but his production in his senior year dropped to just 2 sacks. He seemed very good at coming down the line in run defense, but UConn's defense seemed very passive. It reminds me of the LSU defense that Danielle Hunter played in were he did not attack upfield on his first step and everything was containment. I am not saying that Watts is Danielle Hunter but it is hard to produce sacks when your defensive play call wants you to delay at the LOS.

The play that did sell this draft pick was a Sr Bowl practice rep were Watts completely bulldozered Christian Jones, a OT prospect I like. Knocked him flat on his back and got to the QB.

Or they really don't "fall". A CB that runs a 4.61 at only 191 lbs is probably a late draft pick.....in the past 5 combines only 6 CBs ran a slower 40, one of which was Cam Dantzler in 2020.

There are other players who are too this or too that as well. And, for the record, at his pro day he ran his forty i think around 4.56 - so slower than others, but more in the range of guys like McKinstry. he also had a strong 4.13 shuttle and a 37 vertical, so he's not the hobbled subpar athlete the narrative now spins. Is he a first or second rounder - no. But getting him at the end of the 6th is good value - he's got some skills. I feel like he'll probably go more in the late 4th early 5th. IMO too much was made of his fail against Harrison. MHJ is often ranked the best prospect in the entire draft - and King won't often be asked in the pros to cover guys like him. it's a little like Ja Morant dismantling Mike Conley on the basketball court. Does that make Conley a bad player? No, just means you probably shouldn't do that matchup.
