Re: ***OFFICIAL 2024 FROOB MOCK DRAFT*** Offsides otc
The 9ers had two specific Purdy-esque back of the draft options saved up since the beginning
Carter Bradley has already gone, but our other one has not.
The 9ers select QB Devin Leary from Kentucky
Purdy was 6’1, 212 lbs, 29” arms, 9.25” hands
Leary is listed at 6’1, 215 lbs, 31” arms, 9.5” hands.
Purdy had 1,467 college attempts and threw 81 touchdowns with 33 picks.
Leary has thrown 1,315 pass attempts and thrown 87 touchdowns with 28 picks.
Leary had a fantastic combine as well. Here's some nuggets...
"The only quarterback who I thought had a really strong day was Devin Leary. He barely ever missed, with a ton a perfect throws that looked like he had worked with the receivers all year." Brady Balhorn, BNB Football
Mike Farrell wrote that Leary’s “footwork and mechanics were also shockingly good” in addition to his “legit” arm. The Draft Network called Leary “the cleanest, most efficient QB throughout on-field throwing drills…earned praise for clean lower and upper body mechanices…threw with terrific touch.”
Here's to hoping we can do it again.
There's a few other positional players that I also like here for the 9ers, but I figured trying to get Leary as a priority UDFA will probably end up being more expensive cash wise considering the premium on the position, so I'm going with him and hoping my UDFA purse can go farther with other positions.

WIth the 254th pick the LA Rams select
Dillon Johnson RB University of Washington 6-0 217
Power running back is something the Rams lack because all the backs on their depth charts are midgets. Johnson is a strong powerful running who can handle the grinding carries in the NFL. He also is one of the highest volume receivers in this draft in the RB class with 173 career receptions in 4 years, including a 65 catch season at Mississippi St.

The Packers close out their draft by adding a 3rd offensive playmaker whose game is predicated on athleticism and versatility
This guy lined up all over the field, even some snaps as wildcat QB, and was top 10 in almost every combine test for his "position" group.
Dallin Holker, TE/FB Colorado St (Mackey Award finalist)
DB Cooper Dejean
LB Peyton Wilson
OT Patrick Paul
RB Jaylen Wright
WR Malachi Corley
OL Beaux Limmer
Edge Xavier Thomas
DL Tyler Davis
DB Chau Smith-Wade
DB Dwight McGlothern
TE/FB Dallin Holker

This was super fun guys.
I appreciate all the praise, but you guys should all feel good too. This doesn't work unless we have guys like you that are regularly engaged, and respectful.
I'm definitely down for keeping some dialogues going, and definitely make sure to bump this next week if you have any big hits.

if the draft goes this way, I'm hoping the vikes contact Sundell. He has a lot of work to do - mostly strengthening and adding some muscle - but he's super mobile and has played (i think) all five OL positions in college. As banged up as we get, that would be useful in a practice squad guy. I don't think anyone took Trente Jones either - he'd be one to consider.Oriole81 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 8:56 pm My priority free agents...

Write up time…
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Commie Draft
#2 - Jayden Daniels, QB LSU
#36 - Nate Wiggins, CB Clemson
#40 - Edgerrian Cooper, LB Teaxas A&M
#67 - Bralen Trice, EDGE Washington
#78 - Blake Fisher, OT Norte Dame
#100 - Mason McCormick, G South Dakota State
#139 - Elijah Jones, CB Boston College
#152 - Tahj Washington, WR USC
#222 - Rasheen Ali, RB Marshall
Overall, I like this draft. Was surprised that all the good OT and Edge guys were gone by 36, so I went BPA for the second round.
Daniels gives Washington another chance to relive those RG3 before they destroyed his knee for a playoff game days. Too bad his coach is Dan Quinn and his OC is Kingsbury. Good luck, uce. God bless your knees as well.
Wiggins was hands down the best player available at the 36th pick and he fills a major need. Quinn should be very happy getting a tall athletic CB. He should also be happy that I got him the best LB in the draft in Cooper. Cooper has three down potential and can fly around the field.
Trice was a good pick who should be able to get snaps on a rotational role to start off his career. Another year of development and he could start. Fisher should start off as a swing tackle, who has potential as a starting right tackle in the future. No clue on McCormick. If he is lower than what I picked, then I’m not using PFF again. He filled a need for OLineman though.
The last three would have a chance to make Washington’s roster. Washington’s CB depth is worse than the Vikings, so grabbing another cb in Jones was a must. Tahj Washington is an interesting pick at his spot. Nothing special but he’s a solid route runner who could replace Chris Samuels as the WR3. Ali had good success at Marshall. Biggest reason I grabbed him was because he showed pass catching ability.
Overall, I give myself an A-. Didn’t get a LT, but I was able to land good talent in other positions in need.

For sure on Sundell. I heard center could actually end up being his best position, and we’d probably have a great shot at getting him because of geography.somuchyummy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 9:18 pmif the draft goes this way, I'm hoping the vikes contact Sundell. Sundell is a guy too that I’m very interested in. 20 TFLs abd 12 sacks last year, including a 2 sack game against Virginia.
275 lbs, but still tested good at the combine. Pretty sure he was over a 9 RAS.
More of a 4-3 DL so I don’t know if he’d choose the Vikes, but he’d love the 9ers.

DENVER BRONCOS
Denver Draft
#12 - Bo Nix QB, Oregon
#76 - Johnny Wilson WR, Florida State
#121 - Tommy Eichenberg LB, Ohio State
#136 - Nehemiah Pritchett, CB Auburn
#145 - Jaylin Simpson, DB Auburn
#147 - Luke McCaffrey, WR Rice
#203 - Jordan Jefferson, DT LSU
#208 - Jaylin Harrell, Edge Michigan
Honestly, I’m not happy how this one worked out and kinda gave up after rd 4.
Nix isn’t going 12. If trading was allowed, I would’ve traded down to take Nix then. Considering Denver had no second round pick, I had no choice but to go QB at 12. I do think Nix will ultimately be the guy for Denver.
Grabbing Wilson was a mistake and I should looked at corner here. There’s nothing wrong with Wilson. Dude could be a red zone monster with his size. He just needs to be more consistent catching the ball.
Eichenberg fills a need a LB. He should be a solid run stuffer, but he’ll need to prove his coverage ability to be a three down guy. Waiting until the 5th round to draft a corner was a mistake. Pritchett has some athletic ability, but he will need time to develop. Jaylin Simpson is a sleeper on my eyes. I see him taking on the safety/corner type role for the Denver defense. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear his name get called by the Vikings. He seems like a prospect Flores would be interested in.
Only reason I took McCaffery is because would be a fucking travesty not to have one of Ed’s boys don the blue and orange. I also think he has a good chance on making a solid career for himself.
Jefferson is just a fat guy whose best chance at success is stuffing the run. Harrell is just a guy to develop.
Overall, I made too many mistakes. Should’ve went CB and Edge sooner and I feel I short changed Denver fans with those mid round picks. Hopefully, they will happy that I brought one of Ed’s boys to Denver.
Grade: D+

Re: ***OFFICIAL 2024 FROOB MOCK DRAFT*** Completed
These "no trade" drafts are tough. No slight on Oriel for setting it up that way. Having in-draft trades would have slowed this thing down to a crawl. But for a team like Denver... they're going to come away with a QB. In the real draft, they'll probably trade down from 12 if they want Nix or trade back up later to get him at a spot where the value makes more sense. But in this draft, you're fucked. Take him at 12 or you won't get a sniff of him. Makes it hard to have a decent value draft for a team like Denver. You either get Nix or you get good value, but you just can't do both. Not in this setup.Beetlejuice wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 9:46 pm DENVER BRONCOS
