If anything I think the whistle got a LOT worse after the Gobert tech. It was like Foster rounded up the whole crew after and was like "Fuck these Timberwolves." The calls and non calls in OT were ridiculous.

does anyone recall who were our five on the floor in regulation when Ant missed the final shot? I'm just trying to figure out the best way to approach future situations like that. It can't always go to Ant (or earlier KAT) because it's too predictable. Maybe if there's enough time on the clock to allow Ant to operate - then it makes sense. But last night we had 2 seconds to work with. and yes, no one was shooting well last night (except Warren - who was 3 for 3, and Naz - who shot well enough) - but what resulted from the play was Ant (who scored zero in the fourth quarter) shooting a contested fadeaway that missed everything. So that didn't work, right?

i wouldn't have had Anderson out there. 2 seconds left - has anyone ever seen him get a shot off in 2 seconds? no. and Conley couldn't hit water last night if he fell out of a boat. I'd have subbed those two out for NAW and Warren. Warren would have been the wild card. But he can get his own shot off, was 3-3 last night, and is a very good midrange shooter. All we needed was one point. You can argue for Mike and his vet gravitas - but honestly, how much vet gravitas could he imbue to the rest of the guys in 2 seconds? Pass in - dribble or two - shot. That's what we had time for.

ANT was cold the entire second half.

Not getting the ball to the hot shooter in that situation is a failure by the entire team.

i've never understood the insistence on getting the ball to our "stars" in those situations. Ok, sure, when they are hot go for it - but it's not like Karl or Ant are Michael Jordan or Larry Bird or something - guys you can count on to ALWAYS hit those shots. I think i saw the stat earlier that Karl was 1-6 in game winners this year - that tells you all you need to know right there. Again, if they are hot - get them the ball. Otherwise, the best play will be to get FIVE of our best scorers/shooters out there to commit the D, and then get it to either the guy who's been the hottest - or the guy who is the most open. we have a roster full of NBA players - trust them to make a play. TJ Warren has made over 2200 baskets in his NBA career. As a surprise option on a play like that, I think he probably could have gotten off a clean 14 footer. And if he missed, at least it would have been a better shot than the airball Ant threw up. With Rudy gone, our chance to win that game last night was in regulation - NOT in OT.
