Tonga was so-so, but he was a legit fat guy.

Who is our fat guy now?

White Sleeves Phillips is now the default fat guy at 307 lbs.

Not swell.
Agreed. He needs to swell to at least 335.

Unsigned.

My guess is he wants more than his market.

Also, I think Kwesi is honestly wary of comp pick math. If we sign him, it could cost us a pick in 2025. If we investing picks to trade up for a QB, he’s going to want to replenish them if he can. Comp picks can do that. Unless Dalton’s asking price comes down enough that it doesn’t hurt it he math, he might not want him back. OL might take a step back. Feeney used to be okay, but has been bad the last couple years.

I don't know how to post tweets, but Chiefs are close to finalizing a deal to send L'Jarius Sneed to the Colts according to Destin Adams
Comp is supposedly a 3rd this year and a 2025 pick.

Also, to post a tweet, you have to replace the “x” in the url with “twitter.” Look how it looks in the text when you quote this.

Really happy Cleveland was able to get away from Cousins where he could prove his worth.
I think it’s more about getting away from Bradbury.

He played well in Jacksonville. Good for Ezra.

I look at this contract as roughly want it will cost to keep Risner. It might take a little more to get Risner, but not too much. With the cap going up so much, even average-ish guards are going to get ~$10M/per.
This.

I’ve seen some bitching on other forums about Kwesi basically trading him for nothing but we were not going to resign him and I’m glad we didn’t.
I had no problem with the trade at the time. I don't really remember anyone caring all that much at the time either so the bitching from other people is all hindsight being 20/20.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

I thought about this recently but could at some point they resign him and it doesn't count against the comp pick?

If there really not afraid of some teams coming in for him they might just wait it out. It's a bummer for Risner but I think if he was a better run blocker it wouldn't be the case. Kinda crazy tho, this man made a noticeable difference to the Oline performance IMO. Even I was surprised because teams just weren't signing him.

So supposedly if that’s for an even a reasonable number, then it gets us back into the two 3rd rd comp pick assurance.
We could then bring back Risner at any price without needing anything else.

I would say its more likely one of them is there longer, but yes it could work out that way.

I hope so.

Playing time is part of the calculation. KJ played 73.2% of the Vikings offensive snaps last season.

And that'll be enough to qualify KJ Osborn as a compensatory free agent.

His departure to Foxboro adds another 3rd round 2025 comp pick on the board to the Vikings for Danielle Hunter going to Houston.

New Patriots WR KJ Osborn's getting a one-year, $4 million deal, source said. Like I said earlier, really good player out of the slot. Was clutch in Minnesota.

Hot take: Vikings and Pats might have an agreement … The Pats trigger the formula, so the Vikings can now attach their regular 3rd round pick to the package to trade up in the draft from 11 to 3.

That would be great. Call my skeptical that a 3rd rounder in 2025 plus #11 and #23 this year is going to be enough to move up to #3.

So next year we have our 1st, no second, and 3 third rounders.

We can afford to invest more of those picks to get the QB we want.

Good riddance to KJ. Ok enough player and all, but holy shit was he was too overrated here. Barely ok as a WR3, horseshit as a WR2.
