He had a bad year.
But to make a lateral move in conference? Looks real bad for Pajamas.

Thing you have to look at now is that since he's actually friendly with so very few coaches, he doesn't have a very extensive network of coaches to work with to try and get leads on guys who are both A) Competent and B) Interested in working for him.

Sounds like the top target is the guy who's the current DC at Kansas State. He's from Wisconsin and played/coached at Mankato State before going to NDSU and then to Kansas State. Makes sense, but the Big 12 isn't exactly known for great defense.

They'd never, ever go this route, but my first call would be Pat Fitzgerald.

This is great news. Special teams have consistently been a hot mess under this guy.

Yeah the only mostly positive thing about the ST under his tenure was the K position.

Apparently the new DC is going to be Corey Heatherman, former Rutgers LB coach.
Seems like a massive downgrade to me.
