Gus Munger was a freshman in college when the news broke about this. I was never a big Beatles fan or Lennon fan so although his death saddened me it had little impact on my life.

I was just about to turn 10. I remember my brother, who was and still is a huge Beatles fan took it pretty hard. We were watching all the news coverage and all I remember all the people gathering, crying, singing, etc... I didn't understand at the time what the big deal was.
I apologize in advance if what I just said offended or upset you.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Lennon hit hard. I was only 13 but grew up listening to the Beatles thanks to my older brother. Add to the fact the Beatles had actively talked about getting together again at some point in the future but we were never able to find out if it would happen.
