Couple of great games yesterday that BOTH hurt my brackets....ARGH

The later games both nights were pretty competitive.

Final four predictions:

Warroad
Hermantown
Edina
Chanhassen

These teams are all a level over the rest. Lots of athletes oot there.

The preliminaries have been fun to watch but not particularly competitive. I believe we will see it all tighten up today.

We're sure to see some vintage highlights from the 1978 thrilla between Edina and Rapids. Hornets took the title with an incredible 5-4 double OT instant classic!

i was at that game. me and my buddy went to the saturday consolation and third place games and when they were done we were going to be heading home--when what did we see but someone wanting to get rid of two tickets for the championship game! we weren't old enough to have driver's licenses so we had to get a ride to the civic center. my buddy called home and arranged a ride for after the championship game and we were set. great seats in the mezzanine. unfortunately we were surrounded by edina fans who were all parents and grandparents. we cheered for rapids. they cheered for edina. they got the last cheer in.

I know a few guys who did and they talk about it 20 years later like it was the time of their lives and might always be. It would have been so cool to play in this tourney. And the nice thing is, everyone gets at least two games.

i headed to bed. no tv there. didn't know if i was going to stay with the game--but i did. well worth it even though it was late. game didn't get started until 9 p.m.

some real controversy in the warroad game. the ref blew the whistle because he thought the puck was frozen. the warroad player knocks it into the net. should be a goal if the ref didn't blow the whistle--but after further review they still say it's a goal because the player knocked it in before the whistle blew. never have seen anything like that before. goal? no goal? i can see the reasoning--but i don't know about that.

St cloud played well. It almost seemed Warroad was a little on cruise control compared to Wed.
St cloud goalie with at least 3 saves that were outstanding!

High school hockey needs a promotion/relegation system. Why these kids aren’t playing AA is beyond me.

Problem is you don’t get the same kids back the next year all your seniors graduate and they were most likely the leaders of your team to begin with. Now you’ve got a fresh new team and they’re nowhere near ready to play at a higher level.

WHEW! I lost 2 bracket heartbreakers yesterday but today I won two! Great games for sure. I fully expect Chanhassen and Edina to win tonight but one nevah knows....that's why they play the games!
