Hoskins to the Brewers. Matt Moore to the Angels. Even the Pirates have signed someone recognizable (Aroldis Chapman). What a putrid offseason thus far.

Baltimore gave up their 5-ish best prospect, a competitive balance pick and a guy who's around Josh Winder level. Seems light.

It is light, wow. I just don't understand this. That's a move the Twins should of made. What an opportunity missed.

Especially since the two top-end SPs that were known to be available were Burnes and Cease. The Twins aren't making a deal with the White Sox.

Yep.

Burnes and Lopez would of the have made a nice 1-2 punch at the top starting rotation.

The Kansas City Royals announced Monday that they signed Bobby Witt Jr. to the largest contract in franchise history.

Per ESPN's Jeff Passan, the deal is worth $288.8 million over 11 years. A shortstop with power and speed on the basepaths, Witt is one of the best young players in baseball, and the contract keeps him with the Royals through his prime on a lucrative deal. The deal also arrives a year before Witt would've become arbitration-eligible after the 2024 season.

Witt Jr. is ahead of Lewis right now, but not by a lot. If Lewis takes the next step this year, you can be sure Lewis' agent (Boras, of course), will use this as a benchmark for buying out arbitration years.

This is a great deal for both sides. Royals fans should be thrilled. Hopefully they don't waste his time with them.

They won a playoff game. That was their world series and it's time to make money of those stupid, idiot fans who are appeased now.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Nick Gordon lost his salary arbitration case against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday and will get a raise from $735,400 to $900,000 rather than his request for $1.25 million.

Life is good for a baseball player who LOSES his case and gets a raise of 165,000 dollars....

I was gonna say he can spend a few more $$$$ at Mystic now, but looks like he'll be hanging on South Beach instead.

Sports Illustrated has no mention of the Twins and Bellinger on their site. And Sports Illustrated isn't exactly the news source it used to be. They link up with stuff like Fansided and rinky-dink local sites like Bring Me The News to try and drive traffic. MN Sport News is about 20 rungs below Doogie on the media reliability ladder.
