2024 MLB Hot Stove

Post by feekdogg »

Just getting going. Cardinals stealing a page from the Twins playbook, signing both Kyle Gibson (12 million?) and Lance Lynn to 1-year deals.

Nola back to the Phillies.

Ohtani will obviously be the biggest domino to fall.

I was surprised by the Cardinals' moves; they've always been considered one of the 'haves.'

Also, why do sports leagues have different sized dominoes? It fucks with the spacing and pace.

I don't think this rules them out from anything else. They needed arms, they traded two starters at the deadline last year with not much returning to this year's roster.

Looks like Evan Longoria's time in the MLB is coming to a close with the Suarez acquisition.

Do we have any idea what his top offer here was?

I doubt we offered him anything, much less multiple years.

His contract was absolutely terrible, very long and incentive based. So I don't blame him for wanting to get one last nice deal.

Good for Maeda, but I'm fine with them moving on. He had some decent outings for the Twins, but think they're better off looking elsewhere.

Doogie is saying we had interest in a one year deal only and probably weren't willing to do $12 million.

Why did they trade Graterol for him again? Brusdar would be a stud in the BP with him and Duran.

Another Ivy League guy. At least this one actually had a decent career and hasn't been in front of a computer for most of his adult life.
