Tough way to end it. Feels like after they lost the lead in the second half their legs were tired.

Really impressed with Payne’s development. Hope Christie stays.

The Gophers were selected for the NIT and will play Butler in the opening round. A bunch of schools opted out, which might be the only reason the Gophers were chosen.

My uneducated guess is that Garcia, Christie, and Fox will not be back...

Just looked at the Star Tribune metro players of the year selections. Not one player on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams are committed to the U. Nice recruiting Ben......

He has commitments from two outstate kids this year (one's a mistake, IMO). I'd take Asuma over every other player in the state though.

Fox was a senior...so obvs...maybe he has another year of medical eligibility? But he's from here so at this point why move?

Garcia wanted to come here after leaving UNC. And he's from here, so I'm not sure he'd want to move again.

I agree with Christie leaving, but Johnson started him pretty much all year. Ben will need to recruit him hard to keep him. I fhe leaves, I just hope it isn't to another B10 team.

Fox does have another year of eligibility but it sounds like he's leaning towards not coming back....

I wonder what his alt move would be. I have no idea I am so not plugged into this side of UM sports.

Game on! Last game in a Gopher uni for a few of our guys if we lose....

Payne with a STRONG move to the rim and Goldy leads 2-0! Hurt his back on the play so hopefully he gets back in.....

I see this "game thread" petered out quickly... Thought a post season nail biter would warrant 3 posts.

It was an NIT game on ESPNU, directly opposite Wolves/Nuggets. I'll be tuning in either Saturday or Sunday (provided it's on TV), to see hopefully Indiana State and Robbie Avila (aka Cream Abdul-Jabbar/Steph Blurry)

Grove has been hurt a lot but when you're trying to fill a roster with 13 guys and everyone can transfer and play immediately wherever, I think he's a decent pickup. Had a great game yesterday.

They are playing so badly, as a 2003 Ulum, I submit that we should eliminate the college basketball program in its entirety.

Running a 7-man rotation is especially ideal when one guy is in foul trouble and another guy gets hurt.

Ihnen gone too. He was shitty, so it's not a loss, but it's pretty telling that he was originally one who stayed around because he was one of Ben's guys.
Sure looks like young Mr. Johnson isn't in control.
