Lol
I mean they should get a win just from the laws of average. Surely the longest playoff drought in history has to end at some point.

I told you all two months ago that I liked this team with their mix of solid vets and top prospects. I just don't like the management.

It blows my mind that this guy is still on the team.

If there were salary cap implications then maybe I would understand, but there's not. Joey might be a nice guy but it has to be demoralizing to his teammates watching him fail at a ridiculous pace. There HAS to be better options, SEVERAL better options in the Twins system than to throw this fellow out there anymore. Worse than Sano dare I say?

Yes, he's worse than Sano. And he was worse than Sano when they signed him, for more than Sano made, despite the fact that they have an abundance of LHB.Hornets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:27 amIf there were salary cap implications then maybe I would understand, but there's not. that should be at least a percentage point higher now. one week later and they have the same lead as they did when those odds were posted.weimy froob wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2023 3:07 pm Ted

He's missing the point of frustration. It's not the players/team, it's the Manager. Rocco doesn't instill confidence in the more-than-casual fan.weimy froob wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 6:21 pm some of jim's thoughts.

Again, playing down and not being able to hit lefties is a managerial problem. The lineup is pretty good once Buxton gets back and starts in CF for Taylor.

Things could get REALLY interesting if Buck indeed was back in CF and hitting at a higher level than earlier...REALLY interesting!Tommy_Hawk wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 12:32 pmAgain, playing down and not being able to hit lefties is a managerial problem. so who you bringing up? if it's only two it is going to be a hard decision. i have to figure that stewart coming up would send a relief pitcher back to st paul. buxton's going to be one--who would your other player be? or would you not bring up buxton?

On the bright side they won't be favorites in the post-season so they should avoid the "playing down" factor. Of course this is the Twins and the playoffs.

I agree. This team has flaws, but they're not as glaring as past playoff teams we've had.weimy froob wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 7:36 am "This is a better Twins team than we've seen in recent postseasons and I expect a better showing. I expect, first of all, a win." — @Ken_Rosenthal
