nice to get a 1 2 3 inning out of duran. would be the first since july 15. twins relievers since july 25 have a 5.50 ERA--which is the highest in baseball for teams with a record over .500.
you can say that rocco pushed the wrong buttons--and that is true--but it's also true that pagan and thielbar didn't do their jobs. this bullpen is mediocre--but maybe if rocco had gone thielbar and then pagan things would have been different. also jax gets two outs on three pitches before that dribbler for a hit. he gets that hitter then he could have been brought out for the ninth.

he cant keep pulling starters after 4 or 5 when they are cruising. if maeda cant throw 105 pitches after a short start last time thats a problem. I feel like starters have been pulled so often right after having an 8 pitch 1-2-3 inning.
