And you just know that we will find seats behind home plate eventually!
Are they finally done guarding that area so you can get down there without showing your ticket?
I dont think I have ever paid more then $5.00 to go to a twins game.
You aren't going to like this, but...
They tore down The Met and a mall now sits in its place.

But lower their prices would work better.
I bought 2 SRO tickets per game at $4 each for 11 Twins home games this season. Not bad for $88!
Last season I paid $70 a ticket for me, my wife and 3 kids. Add in overpriced concessions, parking, and gas to drive up to the cities it can get a little expensive.

What are SRO tickets?

It won't affect the game at all, but it might affect my enjoyment of it. There were plenty of 2 hour games a generation or two ago. We'll never hit that number again due to TV commercials, but 2:30 games should be the norm.
Agreed.

Not an elite baseball mind but IMO the problem is not the pace, it's the lack of action.

Years ago, hitters tried to get on base. Lots of stolen bases and hit and runs. Bunting players over, etc.

Now it's a home run/strike out derby.

There is less action in today's game.

Am I wrong?

Not a coincidence at all. The pace of play was much quicker with everyone jacked on roids and greenies.

I’ve said this before, they should have a steroid league and a clean league to see what one’s more popular with the fans.

Would a hitting machine be programmed not to bunt in the 9th if the opposing pitcher is throwing a no-hitter?

Depends on if the pitching machine is using the Don Drysdale algorithm…

I never understood why hitters couldn't just adapt to these shifts. Tony Gwynn would've loved it if they put a shift on when he was at the plate.

The pitch clock is a good innovation to keep the pace of the game up.

I generally lean to supporting the shift rule. I get that hitters can adjust but is that the type of baseball people want to watch? IN a crucial situation in the World Series with young Bob Welch pitching to Reggie, do you want Reggie to hit the other way because the Dodgers have all of their infielders shifted to prevent the pull?

THere are a lot of reasons why baseball has fallen in popularity. The most important being in the modern world there are so many other alternatives that did not exist even 20 years ago. But I would like to point out a change most people fail to realize. Baseball is a community game. ITs played in a "park". It is a leisurely game but in the past it had intense tribal relationships with its fans and against the opponents. All of those dynamics have changed. Now it is just a lot of boredom for most people.

Right, but why don't hitters aspire to that approach? Having some level of bat control, rather than just swinging as hard as possible at a certain launch angle? That's why I'll miss Arraez.

Yeah, same song and dance and wAt not, just a couple innings earlier.
