We might have a nice path to the WCF with home court. Take care of business this week.

Kings Lakers Warriors round 1 - we’re just flat out better than all three of these teams and it’s not close.

Clippers Mavs round 2 - we have the personnel to guard their best guys and are just flat out better than both

WCF - the moment this team was built for, beating Denver

Nuggets get to play 3 of the bottom 4 teams in our conference.
We really need to beat them when we play them.
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

If Wolves get top seed in playoffs, do they get a banner for being 'regular season Western Conference' champs?
I apologize in advance if what I just said offended or upset you.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Clippers vs Mavs first round series all but guaranteed right now. New Orleans could still move up to the 5 spot, but it's going to be really hard with their remaining schedule (@ Kings, @ Warriors, Lakers). Mavs have @ Heat, Pistons, @ Thunder and will likely will 2 of 3 with a 2 game lead.

If the wolves can win out, which seems unlikely, we will play the No. 7 seed (Winner of the Play-In Tournament)

If we lose this weekend to Phoenix, we will play the Pelicans and likely get bounced in 5 games

Can't even hang a banner for winning the division!

if wemby can have a big game (he rested last night) the spurs could do the wolves a big favor and they could have another shot at the one seed.

It's a play on there being one banner for the Wolves in the target center related to winning.

ESPN must've updated their standings because they have us 2nd now. I've seen this happen in the past where they mess up the tiebreakers early and then update later in the day or the next day.

hell nba.coms power rankings posted on Monday notes:
"The Wolves had a brief dalliance with first place again, but lost an ugly game in Phoenix on Friday and are back in second, tied in the loss column with the Nuggets, with a head-to-head showdown coming on Wednesday."

we were in first place after beating the lakers the day before.

Yesterday after the loss and all other ganmes played we were third, now today we are above OKC? What happened there and how is it decided? Conference wins?

It seems the only reason it matters is for tiebreaker reasons... other than that they could likely just get rid of them.

I think the play-in tourney is really becoming very compelling. The NBA did a good thing right there.

I disagree but it's one of those things I'm pretty much indifferent on. IMO it would be just as compelling watching these final groups of teams battle for that final 8th spot.

I wish the commissioner would focus on the issues with officiating than he is on focusing on new ways to increase revenue by adding in play-in season tournaments and expanding the playoffs to 10 teams.
