Re: Wolves Playoff Seeding Race Thread
Why can’t any site just get the standings right. Both nba and ESPN show OKC 1 and wolves 2 but wolves have tiebreaker due to conference record. Both head to head and division are tied.
Edit: oh okc gets it bc of Denver head to head? Hmm.
Right now 2nd seed plays winner of phx and lakers for first play in game.
Then 1st seed plays any of phx lak gs sac.
3 gets nola

If 3 teams are tied, it's record amongst those teams vs. each orher. OKC is 3-1 vs. Denver. They're in first.

Are they now locked into playing Phoenix (assuming OKC wins)? Lose Sunday, they're 3, PHX 6. Win, 2 and PHX is 7.

My guess: we stay in the 2nd slot and the Lakers beat Phoenix in the 7-8 play-in.

Re: Wolves Playoff Seeding Race Thread
if we lose yes it looks like 3/6 phx but Denver could lose and we get 2 seed.
If we win, no then phx has to do a play in and we could still be first and play any of the 4 playins
Or I’m wrong. Crazy there’s still so much tbd with 1 game left.

If New Orlenas wins sunday they are automatically the 6th. Phoenix win or lose is 7 i believe in that situation.
Crazy so many teams bunched together from top to bottom .

If we end up 2nd then we would play the winner of the 7/8 game which is looking like Phoenix (if we win) va lakers

Re: Wolves Playoff Seeding Race Thread
I'm thinking we end up 3rd. OKC will take down Dallas (who isn't trying to win) and Denver takes down Memphis (nothing to play for). Of course, we are playing the one team who does have something to play for and I think we lose. Might not be a bad thing...is it better to play the Pelicans instead of the aging stars (Lakers, Warriors, Suns) and the refs?

If we are 1st we would play the winner of the loser 7/8 and winner 9/10

Hold up...the Pelicans still have something to play for? I thought they were locked into 6th already?aztimberwolves wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 12:33 amIf New Orlenas wins sunday they are automatically the 6th. Phoenix win or lose is 7 i believe in that situation.

If not, that's good news. If the Pelicans can take down the Lakers and Sac beats Portland, then Sac leapfrogs the Lakers back into the top 8.
I really want the Lakers and Warriors to have to play each other. That would be perfect!

Yes Pelicans win and they are 6th. They lose however and Suns win, Suns have tiebreaker and would be 6

NBA Communications
@NBAPR
Denver, Minnesota and Oklahoma City will each enter the final day of the @NBA regular season with the same record of 56-25. This marks the first time in league history in which three teams, through 81 games, all have the same record and chance to capture the #1 seed in their respective conference.

How the hell did the Nuggets lose to the spurs?
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

The winning basket was supplied by Devonte' Graham, who muscled through Jamal Murray in transition to put the Spurs in the lead with 0.9 seconds left.

Maybe since they have to win and both thunder and wolves lose they figure just slide into third and gear up for Pels/Suns?
Or figure Memphis sucks enough lol.
Unrelated spurs are sitting Wemby so that’s disappointing for SA fans attending final home game.

Re: Wolves Playoff Seeding Race Thread
Yep. And they’ve got the “been there/done that” clout to be fine with whatever seed they get.
Door might be open. I imagine Memphis would love to end a miserable season with a home win. They have 27 wins and there’s no team within 1 win of them, so there’s no incentive for them to lose for lottery balls. They’ll go into the lotto as the 7 seed win or lose.
Take care of the Suns tomorrow!
Skol (or something)!

Maybe they want to avoid a Wolves matchup in 2nd round and prefer an Okc matchup?

Re: Wolves Playoff Seeding Race Thread
i think the wolves match up well with them and it would be an epic series--but OKC beat them three out of four games. i don't know who played--but that doesn't suggest domination by the nuggets. i'd think if they were doing any thinking about match ups--it would be about the first round opponent. depending on who the wolves play--they could be an underdog as a number one or number two seed.aztimberwolves wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 8:35 pmMaybe they want to avoid a Wolves matchup in 2nd round and prefer an Okc matchup?
