It’s exactly what the NBA wants.

My guess: a second, at-home play-in against NO determines our fate.

It’s what they deserve for such an uneven year.

after they lost to the blazers absolutely nothing will surprise me. they followed that up with a gutty win in brooklyn--so who knows how it'll play out?

Regardless of seeding, we need to win two of the next three to make the playoffs.

Does anyone think if we lose today it could mean an easier part?

Nope. If we lose today we have to win both play-in games. If we win today we only have to win one play-in game and have two chances to do it.
Also if we win today we have a chance at the 7th seed to face Memphis. If we lose today we would play Denver if we make it thru the play-in.

it's probably time for this thread to get back to page one. here's the playoff seeds going into tonight's game. OKC and denver have already clinched playoff spots. i'd guess the wolves would with a win tonight. in the hoping for losses category i think seeing the clippers and pelicans lose is more important than seeing the two teams in front of minnesota. new orleans lost last night and the wolves have the tiebreaker over the clippers.

1. Oklahoma City Thunder (48-20)
2. Denver Nuggets (49-21)
3. Minnesota Timberwolves (47-22)
4. Los Angeles Clippers (43-25)
5. New Orleans Pelicans (42-27)
6. Dallas Mavericks (41-29)
7. Phoenix Suns (41-29)
8. Sacramento Kings (40-29)
9. Los Angeles Lakers (37-32)
10. Golden State Warriors (36-32)

With Ingram out the next two weeks and a tough schedule, the Pelican's may drop a spot or two. Prior to the injury it was looking like they may have jumped up to 4th before the end of the year.

if anything, looks like Dallas could be the one to jump over clipps right at the end.
suns too have a great view to move up- they have a tough but impactful schedule that could catapult them as they play us twice, NOP twice and clippers twice (also OKC and Den) so tons of WC playoff team games, also b2b with spurs this weekend to potentially five them some momentum before the gauntlet of teams ahead of them.

The conditioned Wolves fan in me says, this first round will be a coming out party for Ant but a 1st round loss. Then the media can say, "ANT wants out of Minnesota, he'll never win there!"

12 games left.

word out of New Orleans is that Ingram avoided serious injury the other night. he has a bone contusion and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. by my hairy calculations, that means he will miss 7 games at the very least. because it's a leg injury and that hampers the ability to do cardio workouts, he may need a couple more to get back into game shape - or at least be on a low minutes diet. It will be interesting to see how the team responds to the loss of their second leading scorer (20.9 ppg). The Pels are a pretty deep team.

with the pelicans schedule they could fall to a play-in team. have to see how they respond. they can stay out of the sixth spot. if i'm picking a team i'm hoping for the wolves to play in the first round i'm going with sacramento.

Phoenix would be a NIGHTMARE for us in the first round in my opinion.

Booker always seems to kill us.

Beal if healthy can do some major damage.

And KD is KD.

Not to mention I’m sure the NBA would love to have a KD team advance in the playoffs and will deploy the influence of the refs against us.

This is going to happen. The nba will get Ant to a big market

Going into the week with 1/2 game separating 1-3. We’ve definitely got the lighter schedule, whereas OKC has a bit of a meat grinder.

Denver: MEM, PHX, MIN, CLE
Oklahoma: @NOP, HOU, PHX, @NYK
Minnesota: DET, @DEN, CHI

OKC gets Pels without ingram though, so we'll see if Zion can demolish Chet.

This is the worst matchup they can get.

our game Wednesday against the Pistons should be an easy win. you never know, of course - but they are a bad team that now is also pretty beat up. in their game against the Knicks tonight, the starting lineup is projected to be Marcus Sasser, Jaden Ivey, Troy Brown Jr., Chemezie Metu and James Wiseman. yeah. We will see if they are still like this on Wednesday - but i do know with Cunningham's bulky knee, there's talk of just shutting him down for the season. Duren has been out with back spasms. Fontecchio has a bad toe. Ausar Thompson is out for the year with blood clots. And Isaiah Stewart is out for the year as well with something. That's a W unless we completely and utterly crap ourselves.
