2023 NHL Trade Deadline - Wild Edition

Post by INSIJS »

Deadline is 2pm Central 3/3/23.

Wild aren’t going anywhere. What do you do if you’re Guerin?

-I’d take anything for Dumba. You aren’t RE-signing him anyway cuz he ain’t taking $2M/year. Bag of pucks down?
-Take offers for Hartman and Foligno.
-Trade Fleury.
Fuck you. :finger: Original RC 2004 & RC Kickball Team. :drinky:

I'd be ok with a trade of anyone not named Kaprizov, Zuccarello, Boldy, Brodin. Greenway HAS to go in my opinion.

unfortunately, Guerin is the only GM that thinks Fluery has anything left in the tank.

Read online that Addison could be moved as well

Fleury has been fine so far this season but if BG can get some value for him by sending him to a team that thinks they contend (like us last year!) then do it. Gus could certainly take the load of games the rest of the season and then team with Wallstedt next year. If it's true that Addison could be moved then BG must feel Faber can pretty much step in and contribute when the Gophs season is over. Dumba almost for sure gone at the deadline or over the offseason so you'd need Faber to be another right handed shot along with Spurg.

This 7 game homestand hopefully makes or breaks the Wild. If they poop their pants then BG needs to be a seller for sure....

Time to trade Greenway, Spurgeon, Dumba, Foligno, and Hartman for whatever they can get. The problem is anybody interested in those guys?

Homestand ends pretty well so at this point Billy has to be leaning "buyer." Read a recent article where Boeser's agent Ben Hankinson (he's from Edina!) said Brock would fit perfectly on a line with Boldy but because he has 2 years left on a 6+ million contract something creative would have to take place to make it work. If somehow we could rid ourselves of Greenie or Matt and make the contract work I would be super psyched! A line of Boeser, Ek, and Boldy would give the Wild 2 solid scoring lines and help the PP as well.

They better not move Addison. Dumba can go and Faber can take his place soon.

Curious as to who sits/gets sent down to make room for Marcus. I guess if this is the only move you'd put Johanssen with Ek and Boldy and move Foligno down to 3rd line. Would love to see Greenway's azz sitting out but BG would probably sit Shaw and have Duhaime play with Reaves and Dewar.

Odd moves.

For the cost of Nyquist I don't mind. Very solid player. Not too worried about rust, chemistry or minutes come playoff time. Dudes a super sound vet.

Marcus again?! I don't get. Talent is talent and he does have speed, but hes not even close to what he once was... Kane goes for a 2nd and 4th(albeit no leverage)..

Go get Brock now.

It is….. I don’t know that I was expecting any earth shattering moves, but maybe a little bit more of a splash would have been nice. I’ll admit that I don’t know what that would be!

That “hockeyfeed” pansy ass sight called the Johansson move a block buster for what that’s worth!

The Wild appear to be 'afraid to make a mistake' with a trade IMO. They needed to however to get over the hump. This team is not going to beat the Avs in the playoffs as built right now, and maybe the management doesn't care due to our crazy cap situation.

You are partly right, but Guerin imo DOES care but due to the massive cap problem (brought on by his decision) won't sell the farm to take a shot this year. I feel he is putting all his eggs in one basket by hoping and praying a few of the highly rated prospects turn into stars and that when the massive cap hit goes away after 2 more years he'll be a major FA player. At that point he'll get one or two years tops to produce a legitimate Cup contender. It's a bold move Cotton!

Agreed. We're going to have a 2 year window basically where 97 is still under contact to get the cup. I think he's gone once this contract is over.

And possibly from that?
