They got a 2nd rounder for Greenway which is a steal IMO. Guy seems washed.
I know nothing about Sundqvist but the people on ESPN said he'll fit nicely on this team.

Did not think we would get that much for greeny. Especially with no salary retained

Wild loving expiring contract guys. We're going for it all this season and then if we don't like these guys we can let them walk.

The Greenway trade was very good. The rest just add some depth and roster options that hopefully perform better with a change in scenery.

I think that's a very good analysis. For me the biggest plus was getting rid of the Big Rig. I've ridden him hard all season and makes me glad that BG rid us of this underachiever. Anxious to see how much new additions bring to the table. Time will tell!!

Most likely...he'll still be able to command 4-5 million/year and that's out of the budget for BG

From a writer in Buffalo…
You might remember that I was excited to see Jordan Greenway join the Blue and Gold. Since his arrival, however, the team suffered, toiling through his first few games, going 1-5-2 in that span, and allowing 45 goals in the process, or 5.625 per game.
Greenway has likewise struggled, logging just one point, and a -5 in the plus-minus column. At even strength, Buffalo has just a 0.821 save percentage when he is on the ice, nearly 10% lower than the 0.919 he had while with the Minnesota Wild this season.
You can attribute some of that to spotty goaltending. But either way, there is no coincidence that Greenway’s arrival nearly spelled doomsday for the Sabres.
Want more evidence? Since Greenway went down with an injury and missed the previous three games, Buffalo is 2-0-1, defeating one playoff bound team, and shutting out a playoff contender.
The only drawback I’m seeing is it will be their Vegas pick which will likely be near the very bottom.

Dude is flat out lazy. Doesn't use his size at all and never plays the body. Weak sauce. He'll be out of the league in a couple years.Hornets wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 5:20 pmGetting rid of Greenway might just have been BG's best move this season...Stu Pedaso wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 1:31 pm
