I think their dominance in microprocessor design has dropped way off from the 386/486 days! A few more top dogs have entered the ring since then.

I read about them building new factories in America that can make complex chips. It seems like demand for complex chips will only go up and up as the digital transformation continues. I think 2025 or something is when they are supposed to start coming online.

lots of good companies on sale now. still downward pressure so the bargains should still get better. under 20 is when i'd get real interested. the dividend is nearly five percent right now.

I like INTC's fundamentals. Low price/book value (under 3 is usually decent, they are at 1.17, low debt to equity (under 1 is ideal, they are at .32), outstanding dividend, low P/E

The company is a value investors dream, and its at its lowest price in 8 years.

want to take a look at SWK? it's in the "dividend king" category. intc is another one that i'm looking at. value investing for me for the next 4-5 years--if/when i buy stocks.

SWK has never been on my radar, but I'm looking at it now and like what I see. Similar to INTC, the P/B and debt/equity are very nice. I've also noted that insiders are buying a lot more than selling. Very strong dividend history as well, increasing the dividend for 54 years running and no reason to believe they won't keep raising it.

Intel’s troubles, which include a surfeit of chips and weakening demand for factories pressing on its margin, are unlikely to abate soon, with the company guiding to an adjusted net loss of 15 cents per share for the upcoming quarter. Analysts did not mince words, cutting price targets almost across the board.

“No words can portray or explain the historic collapse of Intel, with management attempting to blame a worst-ever PC inventory digestion dynamic and macro/China/enterprise to an over 20% q/q decline in sales,” Rosenblatt analyst Hans Mosesmann wrote in a Thursday evening note. Rosenblatt maintained its sell rating for Intel and lowered its price target from $20 to $17.

Intel's CEO is doing the right things especially with the big pay cut he took

Intel has a cool history but you can't trade stocks based on what a company did 5 decades ago
looks like nvida is the buy in this space. polaroid was once a high flyer stock too.

Analysts see hope in Intel’s earnings but remain wary of structural issues

Intel’s portfolio is geared too much towards PCs and not A.I. business, says BofA’s Vivek Arya

nvidia used to be the also-ran when intc was the industry leader and the stock to be in. not anymore. just another example of how things can change. if you got in five years ago for 10K and sold today your retirement account would be sitting pretty. maybe even retirement.

Nvidia shares jumped 15% on Thursday morning, a day after the chip giant posted bumper earnings that beat Wall Street estimates, driven by excitement over artificial intelligence.
The company reported revenue of $22.10 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter, a rise of 265% year-on-year, while net income surged 769%.
Nvidia chips are used to train the huge AI models such as those developed by Microsoft and Meta.
