Depending upon the poll the Gophers are pre-season 1 or 2. Doesn't matter but if there were a team to have expectations to make the FF this is one of them.

Sadly the first series of the year is vs. brand new Div I Lindenwood out of the hated Federal League. Tinfoil is optional.

If the Gophers win either game by less than 5 season is over.

After that things get real right quick with series vs. MSUM and UND.

Will be interesting to see how much green is in the building for the sioux series. looking forward to the season. Bought the full package for sioux league for streaming. Hope they have upgraded the feeds a bit this year, but at least I can watch. Might set up a 2nd smaller TV for all the hockey action this year.

Watched The sioux, huskies and gophers over the weekend. Typical first weekend games for all 3.
Just from the hype i figured the gophers would blow out their games.
All 3 teams had their moments of dominating as they should.

Golden Gophers with a rock solid 4-1 victory ovah the Mavs as Jimmy Snuggerud notches the hatty! The rematch is tomorrow in Kato!

Solid game by the gophers and it was a closer game then the score says. Gopher goalie played well.
Couple of things to note. The goal kept coming off and at least one time mavs were moving the puck around well. Also the bogus whistle when the goalie was coming off the ice and I think the linesman got excited to get to call "to many men" Snuggerruds 3rd goal was a fucking rocket.

Can't honestly say I've scouted HC so don't know their talent level. I do remember a number 1 seeded Rodents club losing to a heavy underdog HC club several years ago....think it was during the Kessel year.

didnt see sat night, but it sounds like they played like shit. Fri they got off to a slow start and battled back.

I think their current ranking is more out of respect at this early time in the season.
Goalies not playing well, nor D. Couple of good forwards.

They will play hard, but this series does not have the fire anymore. If the gophers play their game, it should be a sweep for the home team.

It will be interesting to see if all the seats are really full. They announced a sell out a few years ago and it was maybe 8k.
