Fact, the Gophers did better in the tournament than that cheeseheads did.

Heck of a season, Ben. Only coach in Big 10 history to win the same number of conference games at home, on the road and on a neutral court.

We all hoped he'd set records, but some doubted.

Shocking development: Jaden Henley has entered the portal.

Jaden Henley officially enters the transfer portal, not a surprise but still disappointing. Has there been a worse hire in recent gopher memory than Ben Johnson? 2 years in and no significant recruits, declining attendance, no momentum for the program at all.

Treyton Thompson gone too. Addition by subtraction on that one.

Maybe. Are you confident that Ben can replace him with someone better? I'm not. (And yes, I fully realize that Thompson is not good by most any measure).

That's a pretty low bar. Thompson is no where near a Big 10 player.

Neither is Taurus Samuels, but he ended up here because Ben couldn't get anybody else. He's out of guys that he had a previous connection with like Willis and Curry and I doubt there's any Minnesota kids that want to transfer home to be a part of this crap-pile.

Get ihnen and Fox back and healthy, hit a couple transfers, keep everyone else, things can change quickly.

I’m not that worried. There are going to be a ton of players available in the portal. Thompson is no loss, Payne, and the rest of the freshmen will all be better next year. The other four star is still coming.
Don’t get me wrong, this team won’t compete for the big 10 title, but they’ll be better than this year.

I’m thinking Iowa State comparison.

Battle and Cooper both in the portal. Novody wants to be a part of this disaster. Empty Suit Coyle hired a gjy who can't swim and threw him in the water while he was carrying 4 bags of riiver rock.

If they hadn't just 'fired' Whalen would Johnson be gone already?

They walked on senior day, they weren't coming back.

No, and Minnesota would probably get blasted nationally for firing him that quick. If it's a trainwreck next year, I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone. I hope it's not... not because I'm a diehard for Ben but because I want the program to do well.

The rumor was Battle was going to try to play overseas.
It looks worse that they are both going to play at another school.

Yeah, rumors were out there he was done with college hoops.. and maybe he still is but money talks. Battle wasn't that good this year... best of luck where he lands... he wasn't expected back, would I prefer him back over gone? Sure.. but he's a grad transfer. Garcia could leave next year too if he graduates. Cooper just isn't much a loss IMO.

Are there any rumblings at all of Dawson Garcia testing the NBA Draft waters? Or is he for sure coming back?

There should be a rule against that.

This is slimy and gross. Just takes a shit on the U. There should be a rule against interconference transfers unless for extenuating circumstances.

Yeah, but what does that say about the state of the program? People are freaking out because at this point it appears the level of player Ben will be able to get is closer to Maverick Ahanmisi then an average power 5 player.
