Re: Tool
Nice. And yeah, you’re right regarding the set list.
Here was our set list last night. I’ve put an asterisk next to the songs that they’ve played consistently in this leg of the tour, and the others could be replaced by Sober, Right in Two (would’ve liked if they played this one), etc.
Fear Inoculum *
Opiate
The Pot *
Pushit *
Pneuma *
The Grudge *
Eon Blue Apocalypse
The Patient
Descending *
Hooker With a Penis *
Chocolate Chip Trip *
Culling Voices *
Invincible *
All the songs were excellent obviously, but Descending really stood out!
Stinkfist, Forty Six and 2 etc were in the first leg of the tour in late 2019 / early 2020 before the shows got canceled / postponed.
Grate show, fellas! My ears are still ringing.

Anyone going to this Sunday's concert at the Target Center?

Re: Tool
I saw them awhile back. It was a really good show. Definitely seen better.
Love me some Tool.

It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

My only nitpick is the setlist- the Undertow into Descending piece was kind of a bummer when they could have used that 20 minutes to play 2-3 better songs. The rest of it however was fantastic.

I am glad you liked it, Duff.
I remain incredibly underwhelmed with "Fear Innoculum." But cool that you dig it and had a good time.

Maybe I had too high of expectations, or something.

Re: Tool
If we're staying in the rock/metal world, I'd say Carey is probably rated about right. Rightly considered one of the best drummers in the world. But maybe not seen quite in the light of someone like Peart or Portnoy. If you're into 'Mt. Rushmore' discussions, I don't think he makes the cut. But, it's so damn subjective. If someone wants to put him up there, who am I to argue.

Re: Tool
It's towards the bottom of my list of tool albums overall, but Pneuma and Invincible have become two of my favorite songs. FI isn't a bad album by any means but it's definitely a change from where they seemed to be heading after Aenema/Lateralus/10k Days.cmd24 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 1:14 pmI find myself feeling that way, too.Beef Supreme wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 1:05 pm I am glad you liked it, Duff.

Re: Tool
I probably should give it another listen, but those three albums you listed were sooooo great. Jambi and Vicarious are two of my favorite Tool songs. I'll be the first to admit I wanted to hear another Aenema or 10k Days.DuffMan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:35 amIt's towards the bottom of my list of tool albums overall, but Pneuma and Invincible have become two of my favorite songs. Re: Tool
Lateralus is my favorite album. Obviously 10K days and Aenema are grate too.
Although I’ve gotta admit and maybe I’m in the minority, butt I LOVE Fear Inoculum.
In fact, I think I spent a few weeks listening to that album everyday.
It’s a little strange that they play every song from that album during this current tour, except 7empest, which is a little bizarre given how good that track is. But I get it, they had to mix in some songs from their older albums.
