That sucks - this is my favorite hockey tournament or maybe it's 1a and 1b with MNHST.

it tops HS just from the talent. Canada was fricking good this year. Lots of fun to watch.

Someday I will go to the Tourney.

Could also go in the Gophers thread:

Cooley and Snuggerud are 1,2 in total points on Team USA so far with 11 and 10 respectively, Mittelstadt is a plus 5 getting Top 6 time and Chesley a plus 1 although he isn't getting Top 6 playing time on D.

The gopher boys have looked very good and they will be 2 steps ahead of everyone in the St Cloud Series, if they are back.
The Minnesota kid, Blake shows me the problems with my squad. He is the siouxs best player and he is good, but you can tell how he really matches up in this tourney. I dont think my squad makes the sweet 16 unless they get hot and win the league tourney.

Tonights match up should be epic. Canada flies the entire game. USA will have to match that, and they can. Issue might be USA Blueline. It has been a pretty could tourney. Canada weak point. They know how good they are.

Guessing Motz never had a shot with Blake but I really like the kid. Back a couple months ago when Goldy played the Sioux I was super impressed with him...he has that "it" factor.

He is good. He is not as good as the 2 gopher forwards. Great game so far.

Both disallowed goals were bullshit calls and took the wind out of Team USA. You could see it on their faces.
Game was over after the 2nd one.

No doubt those were tough to swallow...both could easily have stayed as goals. Kudos to Canada for coming back from 2 down and I'm anxious to get our Golden Gophers from the USA squad back in Dinkytown!

They should be flying for your gophers this weekend. I would guess they flew back yesterday.
Overall another great tourney. Best hockey each year.

I watched the 1st period so I got to see Snuggy's hatty. I don't know if they made a switch but the Swiss goalie lived up to the name on a few of the 5 goals from the period.

The US had several chances the latter half of the 3rd to take the lead, but alas they and CZE are headed to OT.

I still don't like the idea that prelim games need to go to OT instead of just ending as a tie.

Team USA is good, but why dont we have the shots tally on every game?

Team USA U18 beat North Dakota in OT last night. I guess I didnt know Blake did not make the World Team.
He seemed to be on a mission last night, but the USA kids are pretty good on that team too.
