He does indeed. I actually like his singing more than his rapping. Glad he decided to go that route and strike a nice balance between the two styles. I posted this video I think when his album from last year came out. They shot this at the house the Yancey's grew up in.

I dig.

Some of the places in that clip are in Amp's "Return of the Ghetto Fly" video clip.

It's sad what's happened to Detroit. Inconceivable that such a prosperous city could fall upon such bad times.

Right O. I think Detroit has turned itself around in the last 5-10 years or so I've heard. So there's good hope building around the city to my knowledge. It's awesome you bring up Amp Fiddler too. He lent his MPC to J DIlla in 1992. First time he ever used one. And the rest, as they say, was history.

Threw this record on today in the afternoon. One of my favorite albums of the last 5 years. Had to wait 14 years for D'Angelo's third act after Voodoo. Shit was worth the wait. It just grooves so damn good. Touches aspects of R&B, Soul, Rock, Jazz-Funk and weaves some magic.

You gotta pray for redemption!
