Re: College hockey
Down go the Purple Cows to Providence 6-3 after being up 3-0. That dreaded 3 goal lead reared it’s ugly head once again

This team is very resilient when spotting the opponent a lead. I have more hope for the postseason than ever before. That being said, it still isn’t much as there have been so many letdowns over the years. This team should win it all.

I was pulling for the Mavs to finally get over the hump in the first round. I still say they need to change the format where the 4 top seeds host their opening round game. Give them that luxury for having a great regular season record. Plus the attendance would be a hell of a lot better for obvious reasons.Bale wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:25 pmSecondedCripes wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 1:23 pmFuck sports.Cripes wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 7:50 pm Huskies set the NCHC points record with their win last night. I still think 2 regions elite 8 play down to 2 teams to move on. St Paul and Boston. And while this year the ## might be down since the big 6 teams did not make it, I think it would be great.
4 games on thurs, 2 games on sat. Sat winners go to frozen four. That would be a easy trip to plan year after year.

I agree with this. Upsets happen in hockey much more than other sports. This would give the top seed a reward and an advantage, but certainly not a guaranteed Frozen Four birth.Jimtown guy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2019 11:56 amI was pulling for the Mavs to finally get over the hump in the first round. i've always liked seeing the upsets. nothing's guaranteed in this sport-that's what makes it great imo. a hot goaltender, a clank off the post and a deflection can make all the difference in the world. go bulldogs!Cripes wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 7:18 pmI agree with this. Re: College hockey
If I'm correct, the NCHC/B1G/WCHA break up started in the 2013/14 season. Since then, the WCHA is 2-10 in the NCAA tourney, and Ferris St is the only team to win a game (2 x first round wins & then done). I'm beginning to think that the WCHA is like the New Ulm/Luverne/LeSueur Henderson section of MN Class A hockey - it's the team everyone wants to play in the first round. Virtual lock for a win.

DU will try and slow Mass down with their clutch and grab neutral zone lock bullshit. Watched both games at Scheels last weekend of theirs and it's boring ass hockey but it did get them this far. I'm thinking Mass will find a way and take on the Dawgs for the title. I think the Dawgs repeat and keep it in the NCHC.Sellingguy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 6:59 am UMass looks good. speedy.

Re: College hockey
interesting. what would the percentage be around 1970 i wonder. i remember reading keith magnuson's autobiography as a kid and he went to denver. one of the few that went on to play in the nhl after that.

I’d guess less than 5% back then.weimy froob wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:12 aminteresting. what would the percentage be around 1970 i wonder. i remember reading keith magnuson's autobiography as a kid and he went to denver. one of the few that went on to play in the nhl after that.
