the buyout is $1M if we wait till May 1 so it’s not an issue, if Arkansas knows we are going to hire him and wait till that day they’d more than likely agree to lower buyout... as longer they wait the longer it takes for them to start hiring process for their next coachHeHateMe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 8:23 am I still think it will be one of these guys: Smith, Medved or Gates
Shaka to Marquette would make more sense than to Minnesota.
Porter Moser I still can't figure out, he's got a really good team at loyola and they are (on paper) better for next year. He makes decent money. What's the draw to the U right now?
Medved with Dave Thorson in hand coaching the Gophers excites me from a local recruiting standpoint. Seeing Sid list Sam Mitchell over Medved is crazy!
With KevinBacon -- Boynton got Cade because Cade's brother is on staff. Pass on him.
If Muss is truly available and they can figure out the buyout somehow, I'd be ecstatic to land him. Just seems like it's so unrealistic.

Well if that is the case, you'd hope Musselman would tell them as soon as they're out he is taking the job and start negotiating the buyout. Gophers cannot (and will not) wait until May 1.Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:21 amthe buyout is $1M if we wait till May 1 so it’s not an issue, if Arkansas knows we are going to hire him and wait till that day they’d more than likely agree to lower buyout... as longer they wait the longer it takes for them to start hiring process for their next coachHeHateMe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 8:23 am I still think it will be one of these guys: Smith, Medved or Gates

Re: Gophers 2020-2021 Season
Justin Gaard is calling it an “eventful weekend” for the coaching search and he expects the new coach to be named early this week. This tells me that the candidates are already out of the tournament. Smith, Medved, and Gates seem the most likely picks as HHM mentioned. I’m in the minority it seems, but I kind of like all 3, especially Gates.

If Medved is the choice good luck selling tickets next yearKevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:41 am Justin Gaard is calling it an “eventful weekend” for the coaching search and he expects the new coach to be named early this week. Unless it’s Musselman you’re not selling any tickets regardless. So why worry about that particular aspect short term? Gaard could also be full of shit or getting lead by someone and be 100% wrong.Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:05 amIf Medved is the choice good luck selling tickets next yearKevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:41 am Justin Gaard is calling it an “eventful weekend” for the coaching search and he expects the new coach to be named early this week. Re: Gophers 2020-2021 Season
Him implying it could happen this week could also be that Muss is a 1 pt dog today vs Texas Tech as they could easily lose. Apathy for this program is at an all time high so Coyle needs to do something to inject life into...fans got fooled by little Richie pop up seasons and would likely view anyone not in the game changer bucket the same and aren’t going to flock back even if they are winningKevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:08 amUnless it’s Musselman you’re not selling any tickets regardless. That would be underwhelming. Been at Boise State a long time and hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2014/15.Sid Hartman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:40 pm

I picked Illinois losing this one.

I thought they had the combo of bigs and guard play to win it all. Pudgy Krutwig is taking Cockburn to school.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 12:56 pm I picked Illinois losing this one.

Wisconsin starts four seniors. I wonder if some of these guys will take advantage of the extra year of eligibility?

Moser bidding will get too high, and it would be pretty surprising if Muss leaves what he's got going on down there.

For Shake he's had 5 straight NCAA Round 1 losses, a losing conference record while at UT and a much better recruiting base than Minnesota.

Who the hell are the Gophers supposed to put on the court next season? If Omersa wants to come back, he could probably get 40 mpg.

Medved and Smith have to be the two that are the least exciting. Hopefully it's not either.
