How did Wade and James play?jffl_commish wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 8:42 pm 78-58 Minnehaha wins. It was 34-34 at the half. Holmgren 1 point away from a triple-double. Suggs took over and they dominated.
I dont even know if Wade did, he's just a bit player. James was ok, but he's just a freshman.Hornets wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 8:49 pmHow did Wade and James play?jffl_commish wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 8:42 pm 78-58 Minnehaha wins. I know he's headed to Michigan State, but I wonder what the story with Terry Lockett is. He left for a year to go to prep school for football, and came back to Minnehaha for his senior year. And, in the process, he's now getting a whopping 7 minutes? This kid was a starter as a freshman and a sophomore, and was a legit starter, at that.
Lockett was probably most affected by Master P moving to town, but as a big time football recruit, it probably doesnt bother him too much.cmd24 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2020 11:14 amI know he's headed to Michigan State, but I wonder what the story with Terry Lockett is. Of course they'd hype the visiting team. If it was just some random team from Wisconsin, or even just CDH or Hopkins, there's no need to move it to Target Center. It got moved because there was interest in a phenomenal Minnehaha team against one of the best prep teams in the country. Now Boston and Williams are MUCH more important than James and Wade's kids on that team, but the name recognition adds to the hype.Sellingguy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 9:01 amWhat is sad about it is they hyped on who was on the visiting team, and yes i get that, it is marketing.
But the MN kids crushed them.
Agreed. I was disappointed when I saw that Bronny was only a freshman, and not even a starter (I didn't know anything about him, other than little cmd talking about him). Williams being on that team wouldn't have registered a blip on the radar, for most Minnehaha fans, I'd bet. I didn't know about Wade having a kid on that team, either.j2j wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:54 amOf course they'd hype the visiting team. It was tied at half. Williams played terribly. Had he played like the top 10 kid he's been ranked as the game is different.
That's what disappointing about basketball at the college and pro level at this state. If we had good programs, this state would embrace basketball like crazy, we saw it when KG was here, we saw it with the women's program with Whelan and McCarville. Those moments have just been way too far and few between unfortunately.
Right. The Timberwolves did sell out quite a bit of games while Butler was here but they were also near the top in the west standings before he got hurt that first season.Dan33185 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 11:13 amThat's what disappointing about basketball at the college and pro level at this state.
