Haha Cat. That's a really bold and powerful video, but vulnerable at the same time. I like D'angelo a lot. I came to his music pretty late. But Brown Sugar, Voodoo, and Black Messiah are all really excellent listens.

Voodoo was all tracked live, amazing for any album. Especially R&B. Tracked to tape. They had the organ Stevie Wonder used for "Talking Book." Bunch of interesting tidbits to those albums.

D'Angelo was dissatisfied with the direction of R&B and soul music when conceiving the album. In an interview for Jet, he said that "the term R&B doesn't mean what it used to mean.
