I had the International Superhits in high school but didn't get into them hard until college. It was Nimrod, Shenanigans, and 1039 that I fell hard in love with!

I was super into Nirvana and this geeky pencil necked little bitch of a dude I worked with at Kmart in high school started to become a Green Day fan.

It forever tainted the band for me.

Sounds about right.

Or the guy in high school that wanted to be one in the scary kid crowd that wore Slipknot/Tool shirts and started wearing black a lot later in life.
Never realizing those kids hated Green Day.
