Why do fast food hamberders taste different?

Post by Douglas Bubbletrousers » Thu Feb 14, 2019 3:25 am

Why is it that a hamberder from Burger King or somewhere tastes like a different food altogether than a hamberder from a slightly more fancy sit-down place?
Too cool to care

I prefer my hamberders broiled in the oven and not off the grill. Don't @ me.
I haven't even begun to peak.

Maybe you need to take a little time off to gather yourself.

Make sure you put American cheese on that bad boy. None of that French or swiss shit.

Cheddar is worthless on a burger, it has no flavor, just turns to an oily lump. Kraft Deli Deluxe ftw.

GF bought me this for xmas as I always sing the praises of everything on a griddle. Just sit on top of your range, heat up, season, enjoy. BUrgers, breakfast, Hibachi, Teppanyaki, etc.

No, you want it to get seasoned and colored, flavor baby! Just scrape the big chunks off and keep it oiled.

Plus I got sick of cleaning my stove top and the grates and the burners, etc.

does it cook evenly? I have one long burner in the middle which helps but there are some hotter and colder spots.
is there copper on the bottom? Mine is all stainless steel and really pretty thick.
where do you store it? I never take it off the stove unless in the rare occasion i need to boil water.

I'm not saying it's perfect but I wanted to try it and it's been good so far. Could cook two packages of bacon on there no problem. Just load up on paper towels.

Does it bend at all during cooking? I have a thing like that for my grill, but it warps a little when it gets really hot.

Yep, a little bit but it stays mostly flat. Thicker that better when it comes to these types of things. Just try and keep the heat even.

If I don't grill I like using the flattop method ensuring to use a lid with some water for a great sear and for keeping them moist. Potato buns are a must.
