*** OFFICIAL TRUE DETECTIVE SEASON 3 DISCUSSION ***

Post by Mandatory » Mon Jan 14, 2019 10:47 am

Anyone watch this last night? Two episode premiere. It's supposed to be really good.
I haven't even begun to peak.

I'd rather be watching a season 2 of Mindhunter but this will have to do for now.

Damnit. I just cancelled all my movie channel subscriptions because I haven't been watching hardly any tv.

Season 1 was great, as we all know.

Season 2 sucked, as we all know as well, but I think it was okay if you took 'TD' off the title. Plus, it was rushed and had too much expectation.

Hopefully Season 3 is somrwhere between 1 and 2 at minimum.
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy. We call it Riding the Gravy Train

Well, it's great so far. Mahershala's transformation into an old dude is probably the best I've ever seen. Looks legitimately elderly.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this season so far. There's a whole lot going on. I have a feeling I'll be rewatching after it ends to pick up on all the things I missed the first time around.

I have a hard time watching shows and movies about abducted kids. I liked it a lot at first but I had to step away. Maybe it's the strain of weed I have right now?

I almost had to stop when the kids were riding the bikes at the beginning. I was like ugh.... I don't know if I can do this.

Also, I started the new IT and immediately gave up. Probably would feel different in a theater but figured I could find something better to do with my time knowing this little boy is about to get tortured.

Episode 4 was great TV. The dialogue with the wife and Hays and then the partner/Hays is simply amazing writing.

I'll jump back in soon enough, I'm sure. It is definitely worth watching.

Hey, have you seen that Abducted in Plain Sight documetary? I've heard its bonkers.

The two detectives out on the porch was fantastic, both the acting and writing. It was a complete roller coaster of emotions befitting their lifelong relationship ... and then you remember you've only been watching them for 3 hours worth of television.
