Those who have been a fan for awhile, have you ever seen such a dud of a start for a new HC here?

There is absolutely no enthusiasm. This might just be the rock bottom of this program right now. Team is going to be absolutely terrible this coming season when the fan fare is already at an all time low. Yikes! I would hate to be trying to sell tickets to this thing.

Even Lil Richie had some hype and brought the year 1 team to the cusp of a tourney birth.

He's working the 2022 kids hard already... that's what he was hired for.. recruit local kids.

Pitino inherited a team that just won a tournament game and had the Hollins boys. That would be like getting Carr and Kalscheur back.

Well let's hope.

I find Richard's future quite fascinating. My assumption is he will bolt New Mexico the first opportunity he gets if it's for a power 5 school. If you stay too long at New Mexico and don't win enough.. then what?

They will have to go through the normal waiver process (unless they've graduated from college now, I think both did a year of prep school) and they'll likely get a waiver because the coach they committed to was fired.

There are a lot of 2022 names starting to blow up locally... kid from Mankato, kid from Osseo, kid from South St Paul or Cottage Grove area... they should start offering those guys now so they have some bodies regardless if they get the top 2022 local kids.
