As the president of basketball operations you cant just think short term. You need to have a long term future plan, but he is also the coach so he will think short term and probably only about this season. There is a conflict of interest for him to make a deal which is why he needs to be fired or at least be relegated to a coach only. Someone else should make the eventual deal for the good of the franchise.

Yes, He should have an 8 year plan. Wait, he works for Taylor. A 15 year plan to make the playoffs........once.

Thrill you have to think long term and short term. There is a balance and its important consider both when making any significant moves. I am sure you know that. You cannot think one season only when your nowhere near contention.

Why would Thibs think long term? He doesn't care about what happens to the Timberwolves 5 years after he's fire, and I don't blame him. Glen Taylor should not have offered a dual role in the first place, it is a mistake, and as long as he sticks with Thibs the rest of this year, Thibs is going to do what benefits the team in the short term, because it will allow him to continue working.
