Your take makes zero sense.
There is no inconsistency in my take.
I am not anti-rock. Look at my sig, dumbass.
Non-rock music is not hipster.
Opera is not popular music. Soul and jazz and rock are.
You are the strange one.
You want to talk about music like an expert but you are a person whose knowledge of music is confined to one solitary Tool album purchase per decade.
Meanwhile, I’m a rock musician who who toured Europe, a jazz musician who played with BB King and Prince’s NPG band, and has a degree in music theory and composition.
You lose.
You pulled the “popular music” qualifier out of nowhere.
The criteria is the roobs opinion I guess.

Congrats on your mlhouse-like accomplishments. They mean a lot here.

LOL. You’re the only person here talking about non-popular music.
My accomplishments are real. Have a shitty Sunday, haunted by my owning of you.
Yeah. It was pretty much all rock and metal and then you came in with your condescending attitude and scolded us unwashed masses for not properly venerating “Otis fucking Redding.” So I did the same to you. But you don’t like it. There’s a word for those who can dish it out and not take it. Maybe ask BB King if he knows what it is.

You’re totally right. Soul is as far from rock as opera.
You think Pavarotti is the greatest singer of our time.

Personally rock music is maybe my least favorite popular genre. I enjoy Soul, Funk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, Indie Pop, Tons of different electronic genres, Downtempo, House, Trip-Hop, probably being my favorites.
I enjoy Thrash metal. Growing up being a fan of Megadeth and Slayer. Thrash is good.

I like the blues too. Like some good Chicago blues, electric blues.
True Story:
A few years ago I went to see Iron Maiden at the United Center in Chicago. I know, buncha white guys, right? We decided to make a weekend of it and the next night ended up at a club called "Blue Chicago" on Clark Street. We saw three or four blues bands that night. Even bought a few of their records (Maurice John Vaughn and Shirley Johnson). It was as fun a night as the Maiden show, but for very different reasons.
I almost forgot... most of those blues musicians weren't white! What was I doing!??!?!?!

Never seen anyone go so far out over an opinion about greatest singer. He dismisses Pavarotti from the contest because he isn't popular, like a hitter without enough plate appearances to win the batting average crown.
Yet, the unpopular Pavarotti died with a personal net worth of about $300 million. Considering he did not write much of his music (that is where the real money is), I think that fact alone probably makes Pavarotti one of the greatest singers of our time, skill wise and popularity wise.

Sure. When I hear (heard) him sing, I think; "damn, there's probably not that many people in the history of the world that can do that." Even though it's far from my cup of tea.

I feel like my Mike Patton nod got lost in the thinktank/Beef argument. But now I might want to rescind it because Patton is white and I don't want thinktank to think I'm even more white than I am.
I apologize in advance if what I just said offended or upset you.
