Paul misses a lot of games and Wiggins doesn't, but I think I'd do it.

I would be all for this. I don't believe Paul wants to come here but who knows.
Wolves would have a shot at the playoffs in this scenario.

Think I do it too...hate the Paul contract but Nene is off books after this year. Maybe Lakers miss out on a star and Paul whines enough and we can trade him there

No way I do that. Chris Paul would pout the whole time here and you would owe him $44 million dollars when he turns 36 years old. This would be the Butler deal redo.

If Paul can stay healthy, his age doesn't bother me.
His game isn't predicated on explosion. It's vision, high bball IQ and being savvy. He would instantly become one of the smartest players this team has had in it's history.

You are not giving anything up for him in this scenario though.
That's a bunch of junk for him.
His contract is shorter than Wiggins and he immediately brings this team to respectability. Saric is worthless and so is #43.
The Rockets will be terrible next year if they make this move.

It isn't even a rumor, it says right in the article it's a fan proposed one
Cole Raines of Fansided’s Sir Charles In Charge created a list of possible deals that could impact the entire league. One of CP3’s potential trade destinations is the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The article also includes Gorgui as part of the deal. But it’s just made up anyway.

YOu are giving up Wiggins who is still a player. And so is Saric. TO get a 35 year old player that you owe more than $124 million to. Zero interest. Paul will want to be out of here by game 5 and have an injury and miss the next 20, play 2, miss 12 until the season is over and he forces himself out again.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:02 pmYou are not giving anything up for him in this scenario though.

This coaching staff needs to figure out how to make a Towns-Wiggins pairing work. We have seen the flashes of both players. They need to put it together and the coaches need to make it happen.

It'd make the All-star Wolves team a little better on NBA 2k I guess.
But no, I really do not like Chris Paul. His vibe doesn't jive with the Wolves.

Oh well. Chris Paul still has more trade value than Wiggins and Saric. If he demands a trade after being here we can actually move him and be off the books of Wiggins horrible contract.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:06 pmYOu are giving up Wiggins who is still a player. I don't believe for one minute that the Rockets want Andrews max deal.

No please explain. You think Saric is good. He's not. You think some coaches are going to make a difference in Wiggins Phil Jackson couldn't turn him around and we have the Saunders boymlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:14 pmDo you see the problem with your argument here? Wiggins has had 4 different HC's now. You people are delusional. This roster is trash.

Lets say your proposition is correct and Paul has "more trade value" than Wiggins and Saric. Reasonable proposition. Right?Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:17 pmNo please explain. Then why would the Rockets trade him for Wiggins and Saric in the first place if he has more trade value? That is just math.
The other note is that once we have Paul and he pouts and wants to force a trade, his value is not 40% of Wiggins and Saric. You get a bit player and a WHOLE LOTTA salary filler.

Remove Saric and Nene and HOU sends a future first. Paul’s contract and durability in the later years warrants the first. We could move Wiggins contract later...Paul’s contract will be harder to do so.

Hell, we just traded Jimmy Butler for two role players last season.

Most stupid trades in the modern NBA arent "stupid" at all. They are usually done because a team has little or no leverage to make a deal. If we traded for Chris Paul we would eventually have to do a "stupid" trade to get rid of him, with the only value of the deal being addition through subtraction of a disgruntled player.Sergeant Rubetube wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:26 pm

I doubt they would too. But that wasn't the point of my comments. it is a bad trade for Minnesota too. If we were a team like the Bulls it might be comething to consider. Bringing Paul into a major market would have value ot him. But Minnesota is Minnesota. NO ONE WANTS TO BE HERE and this will be true until they completely turn this franchise around.KevinBaconIsNotMyHero wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:31 pmHouston wouldn’t do this trade. Guys I'm sorry I didn't realize the source was poopshit.
Interesting idea tho. I only like it because I feel like we can flip Paul over to a now-or-never contender and maybe get some assets at the deadline.

No thanks, a Paul trade has "precautionary rest" written all over it.
If we're trading Wig, we'll have to be in Wes Johnson trade mode - especially with how much $ is left on his contract. Giving up some assets and or swallowing hard on some returning bad contracts.
If there is a plan to build around KAT then I'm for it (maybe).
