hoopshype just released an aggregate of all the top sites who do mocks - dort came in 37th overall with mocks of 25, 27, 36, 40 and 47. so, yeah, he lasted in our mock a lot longer than he'll probably last in the real deal.

I thought about taking him for the Wolves to make it easier to stomach moving Okogie in a trade for someone like Russell, but ultimately decided not to.

not a bad comp. high energy, good defense, rough and tumble physical player who's still looking for his shot.

Post by j2j »

I believe he's still available, my apologies if not, didn't see him listed...

At #49 the San Antonio Spurs select...

Isaiah Roby

Roby's athleticism and ball-handling makes him an intriguing prospect with room to grow -- both from a physical perspective and a skill perspective. Roby can fill a need as a quality depth piece with immense upside.

Isaiah Roby's combine measurements:

– 6'7.25"
– 6'8.5" in shoes
– 7'1" wingspan
– 8'10" standing reach
– 210 pounds (3.9% body fat)
– 9" hand length, 10.5" hand width

Spurs know a little something about developing wings with great length and big hands. Needs to add some weight on though, but he has the frame and room to do it.

With the #50 pick, the Indiana Pacers select Naz Reid, C from LSU

19 year old McDonald’s All American and 5 star recruit
6-10 w/ 7-3 wingspan

Very good inside outside game, 33% 3 pt shooter and over 70% FTs, make him a very good stretch 4 prospect

Advanced dribbling and play making skills for a guy his size

Very good offensive rebounder

He falls because he showed up incredibly out of shape in the offseason programming, which question his commitment to actually becoming a great player, but worth the gamble at pick 50. With Thad Young and Bojan Bogdanovich both FAs, Indy needs to restock on bigs and Reid will be given an opportunity to come along slow still and learn behind Turner and Sabonis, plus can pick the ear of Larry Legend every day too.

Two solid picks late. Lots of upside, especially with Porter if healthy. I liked watching Naz the few times I saw him this year.

Doesn't matter anyway. The Celts will steal and stash (edit, because I'm an idiot:) Yovel Zoosman.

This dude doesn't have a single hole in his game. He's basically what you'd get if LeBron and Duncan had a baby, and then that baby had a baby with Steph Curry and pre-knee injury Shaun Livingston's baby.

Yeah. I don't know how all of you missed this guy. He's been on my radar for 19 years.

I really don’t care. It’s the tail end of the 2nd round of a faux mock draft. As with everything, I blame Decker.

nice pick. hard to go wrong at #53 with youth, 7-2 245, decent athleticism with smarts. kid keeps his head on straight and just does the work, he'll be in the league for awhile.

didn't he get picked at 39 by the pels? maybe getting him confused with washington PG/SG jaylen nowell? (i always mix those two up...)

btw, nowell would be a nifty pick for the sixers at 54.

Well in preperation for my last pick I've gotten myself super excited about 3 possibilities who would all be great fits for the Knicks for different reasons...

Eric Paschall, Zach Norvell, and Deividas Sirvydas... All of which are gone. So that's awesome.

yeah, this little froobexercise does somewhat illuminate one to the pitfalls of "hope" in the draft process.

Also highlights how much time I'm wasting researching late 2nd round picks... Guys who have little to no chance of ever playing meaningful minutes.
