Plus, if it's brand new, that might affect it, too. I've never owned brand new, but I've heard they take a bit of breaking in to really loosen them up. I'm sure someone more mechanically inclined can verify that.
Sort of, yeah. It's not nearly as big of a deal now as it was 15 years ago.
The biggest thing is to get your first oil change at about 1500 miles and not get your tachometer up near the rev limiter until you get to 500 or 1000 miles.
I have a hard time getting used to the fact that we don’t have to change the oil in the Mazda until 6k.
I've been using full synthetic for years, so 6k has been my minimum for a very long time.
You could probably get away with close to 7 or 8, maybe even 10 or 15+ with the right oil/filter.

Since we're just posting stock images, here's mine
I'll probably still post some actual pics tonight. I gotta hit up a self serve car wash tonight because snow got into the wheels and it's out of balance because of it
Yeah......that's what I thought.......

I know it seems crazy.. who needs both right? The truck will be my winter/nasty weather driver. That Range Rover will be treated better than most people's children.
Lot of coin for a name that dropped 30k in value as soon as you drove off the lot....But if a new car makes you happy to reconcile you're loss, have at.

I don't plan on selling it at any point so the "value" makes no difference to me. I can afford it and it does make me feel good. No reconciling needed.
You're not the only one who has tried to take this specific dig at me.. if it makes you happy, have at it.

I have about 250-300 miles so far, I just bought it a week and a half ago. I honestly have no idea if it has the eTorque system.. I don't ever remember it being mentioned. I will admit that I've been surprised about how bad the gas mileage has been. Most of my commute is highway miles and it says I'm averaging about 13.5 miles a gallon. I just had the tonneau cover put on two days ago and I don't think the weather this week is conducive to a good average number so I'm hoping it gets at least a little better. I thought the papers said it was 21 hwy 16 city but that's obviously bullshit.
Gas mileage aside I really love the truck. It's beautiful.
The best I've ever gotten on highway with a truck is 18, and that was driving to Florida. If I get a full tank of true highway miles, I'm typically around 16. Granted, mine is a 2012. And, I've monkeyed with which fuel I put in, as well.
I'm going to be lucky to get 10-11 this week, I've been letting it idle so much.
I think that's also a big factor.. since I've got the truck I'm constantly letting it warm up so I doubt I'm getting a true reading.
I managed to get some better readings today.. not needing to let the truck idle and such. The numbers were much more realistic. I was getting over 20 mpg highway.

Not to bring up a sore subject.. but do you like this or the red better?
This one has more features inside, since it’s the LTZ. This has heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, full radio/video screen, etc. So that would lead me to think this should be better. But, there are some things about this one, mechanically, that I don’t like compared to the red one. Smaller motor, even if I don’t need it. And, there are some cosmetic things that I notice every once in a while, that bug me, but not enough to do anything about them. I felt rushed to buy this one, so I think that makes me more nitpicky.

I filled up today, as well. Granted, I idled WAY more than I would’ve needed to, but that said, I got a whopping 10mpg on my last tank!
Given the fact that I have a two mile round trip commute, I always expect my mileage to be lower, but I couldn’t help holding back a laugh when I figured the numbers from the last tank. Oh well, at least my truck was warm.

So this isn't a joke.. even though it seems crazy...
But I just traded in my F150 and Jeep for one of these a week ago... looks exactly like the picture.
2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn
Serious question(s):
How many miles have you put on the Ram so far? Does it have the eTorque system? I was thinking about switching to Ram but have been hearing that the '19s are getting horrible fuel mileage, what have you been averaging on the highway?

Gas mileage is looking pretty good. Up to 16mpg average now that the weather is better.
