Honestly I'm not sure - I'd have to look up the history. Bottom line is Jimmy's not coming back you have to get something for him. If you can get multiple first round draft picks that can certainly be appealing to other NBA teams. Obviously you have to make astute front-office decisions for that plan to come to fruition.

looks like with the trade of KMart to Denver, NJ essentially got a 2005 Philly pick, a 2006 Denver pick. and Clippers 2006 pick.
they traded two of them (2005 Philly and 2006 Denver) to get Vince Carter from Tor
Toronto used 1 in 2005 for Joey Graham pick 16, the other ended up traded to the Knicks who picked Renaldo Balkman 20th.
The Clippers pick was #22 Marcus Williams in 2006.

so the 3 picks turned into Joey Graham, Renaldo Balkman and Marcus Williams, though the traded resulted in NJ getting Vince Carter to catch lobs from JKidd for a while.

If we make the Miami trade we are back in the lottery for the foreseeable future. If we lose Jimmy for nothing we are back in the Lottery for the foreseeable future. With option 2 we get a watch a winning season and some playoff games. I'll take that please.
