I agree with the announcer…… Wild seem to be laying back a little in the third. To me that is not the way to success that they so desperately need right now, for every shift of the rest of the season.

Eichel got sent home early, was called for a 5:00 and game penalty for a spear on KK. It was a pay back for a cross check that Kirill had given him moments before, which wasn’t called. The spear by Eichel was not over the top aggressive by any means, but it was intentional, and the refs have no choice but to give him the boot, per the rule book.

Yup, that’s the season. Wild played to not lose in the third, in my opinion. The loss was deserved.

As long as he’s ready…… I hear some say he’s not, some say he is. It’s a tough decision, hate to throw him to the wolves if he’s not ready, but how else will he know?

I'm going under the premise that the white flag has been waved. Give him 2 or 3 games just to see where he's at and there's really nothing to lose. The terrible season start under Dean has proved to be the teams undoing and despite a decent year since then, this was never going to be a good team capable of a playoff run.

Since we won't be chatting about Wild games in May I've changed the thread title to simply just run through the rest of the season. What a joy it will now be watching our Wild solidify a mid first round draft pick.....

Season's over, but next Saturday I was given 2 suite tickets, food / alcohol / transportation provided, so I and my kid will be at the X one more time.

Hard to turn that down.

He has speed. He can win puck drops. He only has one point (an assist) so offensively he hasn't done much. But he's been playing with linemates who haven't done much either. Seems to be better defensively than offensively right now. Maybe he can follow the Ek path to success.

Good points Bob. I admittedly was down on Ek his first couple of years and boy was that wrong! These 20 or so games Marat will end up playing should really be a help to him as he heads into the off season now knowing what to expect in the NHL. He'll be bigger, stronger, and wiser as next season begins and he'll also feel more comfortable living in Minnesota and also might have another Russian player or two with him next season in addition to Kirill. I have high hopes that he'll turn into a solid player.

Agreed about the culture change too. That's a bigger change for Russian players than those from other countries.

It's fine that Hartman got 3 but the fact more dangerous plays routinely don't get at least double that is fucked up.
