Sopranos pushed it to another level. Yes, I'm sick of it, but no denying it's greatness. Story lyrics for the ladies, check. Ripping guitar, check. Generational lead singer, check. Bombastic chorus, check.

Didn't the White Sox use it as their theme in the 2005 championship season? Maybe other teams as well?

It had its moment as a legit hit, but half of its life is as a corny tongue-in-cheek gag.

Pachelbel's Canon in D is the most imitated song in the history of music, and "Yesterday" by The Beatles is the most covered, so either of those would seem to be a better choice than this.
