Re: All time Twins team
reading up on zoilo on his wikipedia page and i think gags is a good call.
Decline and retirement
Following his continuing struggles at the plate, which only accented his inconsistent glove (leading the American League in errors 1965–1967), the Twins finally parted ways on November 28, 1967, when he was traded to the Dodgers along with Mudcat Grant for John Roseboro, Ron Perranoski and Bob Miller.

Hrbek over Morneau?

I think so. Morneau had a stretch of 4 years where he was MVP caliber then dealt with injuries and moved on. Hrbek was incredibly consistent for 14 years in a Twins uniform and beats Morneau in every statistical category (it's close).
I think Hrbek should have won MVP in 84' over Willie Hernandez.
Hrbek also has two rings.

Re: All time Twins team
I'm so glad you didn't put one of the most disappointing players in MLB history at Catcher.
"Oh wow look how he frames those pitches"
"Oh boy his elite pitch framing"
"boy oh boy nobody frames a pitch like ol Joe"
"look at how good his wrists are when he swings"
"what good wrist movement when hits the ball"
"I'm gunna go jerk off to Joe Mauer's double after hitting two double plays"
It's been 32 years since one of MN's four major sports teams has been to the Championship/Superbowl.
Every single year is failure until we win one. 4 teams, 32 years. That's roughly 128 consecutive failed seasons.

Of course he doesn’t deserve to be on the list. He looked for any excuse to take a day off and let’s face it - if he didn’t play the majority of his career on that cement infield at the dome he isn’t even a .300 hitter. Those 18 hoppers do not get through. Besides, did even play half his games at C? I doubt it.salamander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 9:24 amI'm so glad you didn't put one of the most disappointing players in MLB history at Catcher.

Re: All time Twins team
If Mauer played 1B his entire career, he probably would have 3000 hits.
He's also a 5-time Silver Slugger with 3 Gold gloves, 3 batting titles, and a 6x All-Star
Do not be shocked if he makes the HOF.
Earl Battey was a very good catcher, but his body broke down at 29.

I won't be surprised. Lots of guys get in that don't deserve it.

He has no chance he’s viewed nationally as a lazy player who took every opportunity to sit out games. Tony Oliva was twice the player Joe was and look how long it took him to get him in. And he was respected and well liked by everybody - Joe isn’t.salamander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 10:33 amI won't be surprised. Lots of guys get in that don't deserve it.
Plus everyone knows he juiced the year he was set to be a FA. You don’t average 8 HR every other year of your career then hit nearly 30. Lol

As someone who has lived all over the country in some great baseball cities during his playing days, Mauer is not viewed nationally as a lazy player. This is silliness.D_H wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 12:21 pmHe has no chance he’s viewed nationally as a lazy player who took every opportunity to sit out games. You must mean starting line up. a baseball team has more players.
