he stepped out at the eight yard line. still a great escape/run--and the bears score the TD anyways.

the giants/washington game. this is why replay is essential and why i wish they had better refs. this was harder to call--but that ref was emphatic that he was down. no he wasn't how can you be so sure? this league that makes so much money has the worst officiating of any of the major revenue sports--and it's not even close.

i will say that refs around the league are real good at spotting the football. surprised actually--with the mediocrity i see in so many other of their calls/decisions. btw, the giants are going to win this game.
Spoiler:
the 4th down play was PI. collinsworth is calling it--because it was.

four blown/missed calls in the last three and a half minutes of the game. the last three in the last minute. you can debate the PI because that can be called so many times and as collinsworth said the refs have a mindset that they don't want to be deciding the games. you can also argue that by not calling it they are deciding the game too. anyways, the point is that the officiating in the NFL was horrid in the games that i saw starting with thursday night. i didn't watch all that much football either. imagine how many blown calls there were in all the games. lulz.

I love it when a play ends up outside the hashmarks and they have to measure for the first down. I ref holds the ball so it doesn't move with the wind and it's a FD by an inch or so. Then they pick up the ball and toss it to the ref inside the hash who has eyeballed the spot. " looks good to me!

i think it's their best skill set. i just wish they could get the other parts of the job done as well. fans have a short attention span though--so the problem never gets fixed. the owners and the commissioner don't even think there's a problem--so there is that.
