$3.50/bushel. 54#/bushel. Stove burns one bushel per day during winter.

Re: Corn Stove
I'm heating a big renovated farmhouse out in Bumfuck. Electric and propane are the options but they run about $275.00 a month. Corn and the electricity used is about $125.00. I have a propane fired boiler with baseboard radiators as back-up.

Re: Corn Stove
heating buildings in the boonies is a hidden cost that city folks forget about. propane is usually the expensive option. you think that corn stove is gonna be able to do the trick this winter? worth a try i guess. what about the log stove? why not that option?

Re: Corn Stove
I had my old corn stove for 9 years and it did the job. If the wind gets up to 25 mph.or higher with sub zero temps my propane boiler kicks in. If I was a young man I would have solar panels and a windmill.
