Yep. Sounds as though it's going to be another helping of Blockhead's brand of straight ahead instrumental hip-hop/trip-hop. Ninja Tune dropped him because they couldn't license his music for nearly as much money because of the cost of clearing samples.

Which is lame, but makes sense.

I'm going to check out the Alex Cameron album for certain! I like him.

Nice. That's the kind of stuff I like to listen to at work. I regularly dip into the Odd Tape and Tycho.

This is great news. I really enjoyed his Motor City Booty album from last year. Way more Funk influence than his first couple records. It's a way fun record to jam to.

"I've put my heart and soul into a new album - Amp Dog Knights - which will be released on Mahogani Music on November 10th. The first single is a never-heard-before collaboration with my old friend J Dilla whose sorely missed, and featuring vocals from T3 & Neco Redd! Much love."

Confirmed! :abe:

From his own tiny label and now on Ninja Tune records. Congrats to that dude. I think he's wonderful.

Also his collaboration from 'Cloak' with the immaculate Richard Spaven.

Couple choice cuts off of 'Wallflower.' I think it's a pretty solid album, but it's quite a bit different than 'Cloak', which actually was my album of the year the year that it was released. He's expanding and experimenting with tons of different sonic elements and that's exciting, but I think some of it misses its mark.

Also The Souljazz Orchestra released a new album yesterday as well. It's another heaping helping of their stuff, which is always good.

Big Thief is releasing their second record of 2019. "Two Hands" is due out Oct 10th, following up on the success of earlier 2019 release "U.F.O.F". Fertile period for these guys. And for a band that plays the folk festival circuit, they really know how to get after it. couldn't post it here for some reason, but check out the first release from the new record, a song called "Not" on youtube. the final two minutes is sonic guitar bliss. first four minutes are pretty wonderful as well.

Big departure from Body Wash and his recent kind of EP's and mixtapes. This is Mndsgn making extremely lush and gorgeous slow jazz-funk, and Neo-Psychedelia. It's rad. This came out last Friday.

The most hyped up funk and the emotional uplifting ballad. Couple jams from Mood Valiant. It's very good. Surprise.
