We are putting this kid in a COMPLETELY different situation than he's ever known. Y'all couldn't name a single one of his high school or college teammates. Hell his most recognizable associate was Tom freakin Crean.

Now he will be spoon fed like a baby bird by Ricky and DLO, He will be hit on the cut or be spotted up while KAT gets double teamed.

This kid is not Wiggins. Wiggins looked like he was looking for a sharp object to slash is wrists with so he could put himself out of his misery. This is not that.

The difference is Edwards has the energy of a puppy that doesn't know where to channel it, so he pisses on the carpet. That problem usually goes away with age, experience, and training.

He absolutely has to. He's the college head coach of the kid who just got drafted #1. His media deal today was less about Edwards and more about every player or recruit he's going to talk to in the future. That was more about his own job than Edwards. Especially since he's coaching at Georgia, a football school who most people don't even remember they have a basketball team.

I’m suggesting he’s doing what every HC would do in his position. Propping up his players. Also, saying a guy spends a lot of time in the gym doesn’t mean he is doing it for basketball. People enjoy working out to look and feel good. Telling me he spends more time in the gym than all his other players doesn’t make me feel like he’s going to be a great player anyway. Wiggins spends a shit ton of time in the gym too.

The kid says himself he’s not very interested in basketball. That’s enough for me not to draft him. I could be wrong, but it’s a huge red flag for me.

He also said in that same article that he loves basketball (plus a lot more). Then Crean comes out and says the guy lives in the gym. The bit about him not watching basketball is immaterial to me as that is separate from film study...I suppose he could have skipped all the film study sessions in college but I doubt it.

All I'm arguing is that you can't focus on one thing when their is legitimate evidence to the contrary at the same time. Let's give the kid a chance before we right him off right away.
