Evetson Griffin
Did he over value his worth?
32 year old DE with a mental disorder that needs to be managed?
Who is going to give him big money?
I guess everyone is waiting to see what Clowney does and Everson is plan B for teams, but I think there is a chance he returns.
Viking have zero depth at DE. With a bunch of young CBs, not getting pressure on the QB could lead to disaster.

I’m more about Odenigbo and a draft pick at DE right now to be honest. But you can never have enough pass-rushers. I’d love Ev back at a reasonable salary and would use him in a rotation and inside on passing downs.

Re: Evetson Griffin
I was under the impression that he didn't ask for too much money, but that both he and the team agreed that they couldnt afford to spend money on him at any number with other needs and limited cap...Philo Beddoe wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 4:07 pm Did he over value his worth?

The way Rick was talking about it the other day it gave me the impression they are moving on completely.
We are going to see some additions at DE tonight or tomorrow.
One name I'm keep an eye on is Zuniga.

So much for EG signing with Seattle as the Hawks just picked the best DE in the draft.

With the Cleveland pick, maybe that will allow them to move on from Reiff and resign Griffen.
Either that or Reiff is being bumped to LG & we role with Ifeadi.

At this point we are going to struggle big time rushing the passer, I hope brz can find some cap room and resign griffen. Buy us one more year to find more dline pieces since we struck out today

Well, with Rick owning most of the 6th and 7th rounds, maybe he can find a Diamond-in-the-rough or two that can play D-Line and be starters.

Certainly wouldn't enjoy them getting him. Still hoping we work out a way to get him.

Zero depth? I suggest you get one of those depth charts.Philo Beddoe wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 4:07 pm Did he over value his worth?

Re: Evetson Griffin
Odenigbo had 7 sacks last year in a reserve role. I think he’s earned his shot. I’ll reiterate my hope that we can keep Griff as a rotational guy, especially on the inside on passing downs.
Not sure he’s a great fit in GB in their 3-4. Younger Griff could do it, but I’m not sure older Griff can. Hopefully, that chatter is just to get us off our asses and offer him a deal. It would be weird to see him in green and gold.

I like how he's narrowed down his choices... lol
No one is interested, at least not near the money and years. Love the guy but he had a complete mental breakdown last year. Dangerous, scary stuff.
Teams are absolutely not interested in that for a slightly above average pass rush specialist.

Because Zimmer is a cb guy, he builds defenses from outside in. He still values dline of course.
There is a value to everson. I trust the vikings will end up paying him double what he is worth.

Re: Evetson Griffin
I don't see a reason to bring him back. This team isn't winning a championship.
He won't be back here this time next year. Let some other guys get some experience and see what you have. This is going to be Mike Zimmers biggest test on defense this year other than 2014.
I don't forsee this defense being top 15 with Pierce opting out.
You have one proven commodity on your D line and no proven commodity in your secondary other than your safeties.
Yikes!
I'm all for getting the best draft pick at this point if the season even happens.
